MONDAY, DECEMBER 20, 1982 8 P.M.
The Regular Meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to order
by Mayor Stanek on Monday, December 20, 1982 at 8:00 P.M. At roll call the
following aldermen were present: Pepping, Nolan, Busse, Datz, Wieser, Smith,
Serritella, Meurer. City staff in attendance were: Supt. Halvensleben, Clerk
Gilpin, Chief Pasenelli, Park Director Merkel. Absent: Attorney Narusis.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Datz, to accept the minutes of the
December 6, 1982 Regular Meeting as presented.
Voting Aye: Pepping, Nolan, Busse, Datz, Wieser, Smith, Meurer,
Serritella.
Voting Nay: None. i

Motion carried.
A check for $2,839.52 was presented to the City by the McHenry Lions
Club in payment for a shelter at Knox Park. Lions club members who made the
presentation were Bob Steiner, Dr. Leonard Bottari and John Licastro. Mayor
Stanek accepted the check on behalf of the citizens of McHenry and thanked
the Lions club for its many contributions to the City and to the parks.
Motion by Busse, seconded by Meurer, to authorize Mayor Stanek to
send a letter to Don Gerstad of the Residential Development Group seeking an
agreement for use of property at the northwest corner of Dartmoor Drive and
Watersedge Drive for a ball playing field and to authorize the Mayor to
sign said agreement.

Serritella.

Motion by Pepping, seconded by Serrit lla, to authorize and approve
the transfer of $7,500 from the Public Benefit and to the Lakeland Park
Special Assessment Fund as the final payment fo the Lakeland Park Sewer
Construction Project.

Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.

enter an agreement with the State of Illinoisito utilize funds remaining from
the Boone Creek Dredging Project for construe ion of a siltation pond in
Whispering Oaks Park and to authorize the exp nditure of city funds for the
project at an amount not to exceed $1,000.

Mayor Stanek announced that Paul Willhelm,manager of the McHenry
Market Place had informed him that the extension of Home Avenue which runs
behind the Market Place and is on Market Place property,that roadway would
be closed from January 3, 1983 to January 10,'1983.
Pepping, Chairman of the Finance Co mittee, announced that a time
table for the 1983-84 budgeting process had b en set up and the meetingfwould
begin January 3, 1983.
Motion by Datz, seconded by Wieser, to authorize Police Chief
Pasenelli to send a letter of intent to join he Northeastern Multi -Regional
Training Area,Incorporated for training of police officers and to authorize
and approve payment of $1,800 for a six month assessment to continue the
current State training program.

Serritella.

Mayor Stanek called for a recess at'9:45 P.M. The meeting reconvened
at 9:55 P.M. with all aldermen still in attendance.

to do a topography, a preliminary layout and 0 cost study for a golf course
on the 21 acres at Petersen Park at a cost of $700.
