MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 1981
The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by
Mayor Stanek at 8:12 P.M. on Monday, November 2, 1981 at City Hall. At roll
call the following aldermen were present: Pepping, Nolan, Datz, Wieser,
Smith, Serritella, Meurer. Absent: Harker.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Serritella, to accept the minutes of
the October 19, 1981 regular meeting as presented.
Voting Aye: Pepping, Nolan, Datz, Wieser, Smith, Serritella, Meurer.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Harker.
Motion carried.
Motion by Serritella, seconded by Datz, to pass an ordinance
annexing one lot at 713 N. Country Club Drive owned by Lon H. Smith in
McHenry Country Club Subdivision.

Motion by Smith, seconded by Nolan, to pass an ordinance annexing

Motion by Wieser, seconded by Meurer, to enter into a real estate Purchase
of land
sales contract with McHenry State Bank as Trustee under Trust No. 125 and to
authorize the mayor to sign said contract for the purchase of 6+ (six plus)
acres of land from Charles J. Miller at a cost of $35,000.00 with payment to Developer
Donations
be made from the Developer Donation Fund.
Voting Aye: Pepping, Nolan, Datz, Wieser, Smith, Serritella, Meurer.

Chuck and Connie Gillum of Spring Grove presented a proposal to the
Council for establishment of a Family Video Game Center in McHenry. One
proposed location was at 3431 W. Pearl Street.
Motion by Pepping, seconded by Nolan, to authorize the issuance of
Video one video game center license to Chuck and Connie Gillum and to authorize
Games the city attorney to prepare an ordinance and present it to the Council for
approval setting forth rules and regulations for operation of the center
including a stipulation that minors be required to leave the premises at
least 15 minutes prior to curfew time.
Voting Aye: Pepping, Nolan, Smith, Serritella, Wieser.
Voting Nay: Datz, Meurer.
Absent: Harker.
Motion carried.
Purchase Jim Stavros, owner of Chapel Hill Golf Course, asked the mayor to

approach the Council to see if the city would be interested in purchasing
the Chapel Hill Golf Course.
Motion by Wieser, seconded by Datz, to inform Mr. Stavros that the
city of McHenry is not interested in purchasing the golf course.
Voting Aye: Pepping, Nolan, Smith, Serritella, Wieser, Datz, Meurer.
Voting Nay: None.

Finance Committee Chairman Pepping reported that year end projections
of the 1981-82 Control Budget had been submitted for study by department heads.
He asked that each aldermen be given a copy to study and they be prepared to
offer their input at the Special Meeting set for November 5, 1981.

Motion by Smith, seconded by Serritella, to ratify the

action taken by Supt. Weber to contract with Curran Contracting for Maintenance
blacktopping of city streets instead of having the city do the work
as previously planned.

Motion by Meurer, seconded by Serritella, to authorize and

Chicago for interest on the 1955 Water and Sewer revenue bonds as

Motion by Datz, seconded by Nolan, to authorize and approve Boone
Payment Estimate No. 2 to Lakeland Construction for partial payment Creek
Dredging
in the amount of $15,000.00 for work completed to date on the Boone
Creek Dredging project.
Voting Aye: Pepping, Nolan, Datz, Wieser, Smith, Serritella,
Meurer.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Harker.
Motion carried.
Mayor Stanek called for a recess at 9:40 P.M. The meeting re-
convened at 9:58 P.M. with everyone still in attendance.

Mayor Stanek announced that a $500.00 donation had been received
for the Boone Creek Dredging project from Mr. and Mrs. Edward Blake
of 1408 N. Millstream Drive.

A letter from Executive Director,Robert Lambourn of the McHenry
Zoning County Association for the Retarded informed the Council that the
