HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 10/30/1989 - City CouncilSPECIAL MEETING MONDAY, OCTOBER 30, 1989 A Special Meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to order by Mayor Busse on Monday, October 30, 1989 at 7:00 P.M. at City Hall. At roll call the following Aldermen were present: Bolger, Donahue, Smith, McClatchey. Lieder arrived at 7:30 P.M. Patterson arrived at 7:35 P.M. Absent: Teta, Serritella. City staff in attendance was Clerk Gilpin. Mayor Busse announced that the purpose of this meeting was to listen to presentations from architectural and build/design firms in connection with construction of a new City Hall on a 20 acre site one mile south of the current City Hall on Green Street. The criteria for the presentations was as follows: 1) detail on services provided; 2) explain rates and how their fees are structured; 3) present a portfolio of their firm's accomplishments, particularily in the municipal building/complex area and 4) present a list of municipal references. Thirty minutes were set aside for each presentation. The first to appear was Alexander & Associates of 950 Skokie Boulevard, Nortnorook, Illinois. The presentation was made by Joseph D. Alexander, David F. Wigodner of Alexander & Associates and Theodore Johnson of Thompson Dike & Associates. The second presentation was by Donahue & Associates of 1501 Woodfield, Schaumburg, Illinois. The presenters were John M. Hetherington, Naras Statkus and Kenneth Schaeffer. The third presentation was by McLennan and Thebault, Inc. of 1771 Commerce Drive, Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Presenters were John Tnebault, Jay Andrew Jones and Julius J. Kwasek. The fourth presentation was by Dennis Wonderlick of Cone and Kalb of 549 W. Randolph Street, Chicago, Illinois. The last presentation was by Prime Development Corporation of 4501 W. Crystal Lake Road, McHenry, Illinois. Presenters were Kit Carstens, Mike Gilfillan, Jeff Sronkowski and Wayne Machnich of Legal Architects and Scott Dixon of Prime Development. At the conclusion of the presentations, Mayor Busse announced that the Council would review the proposals as presented this evening and schedule another meeting to further discuss the matter. Motion by Smith, seconded by McClatchey, to adjourn. Voting Aye: Bolger, Donahue, Lieder, Smith, McClatchey, Patterson. Voting Nay: None. Absent: Teta, Serritella. Motion carried.
