Special Meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to Council Mtg order by Mayor Stanek on Wednesday, October 17, 1984 at 7:30 P.M. in Special city hall. At roll call the following Aldermen were present: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, Smith, Snell, Serritella. McClatchey arrived at Attendance 7:45 P.M. Absent: None. City staff in attendance were Attorney Narusis and Clerk Gilpin. Purpose of the Special Meeting was to discuss acquisition of the Lakeland Park Water Company and any and all business which may LP Water Co properly come before the Council. In attendance at the Meeting were Dr. Hal Sundin of Baxter & Woodman, T.P. Mathews and his two sons from the Lakeland Park Water Company, Ernest Schooley of Lakeland Park, Ed Guettler, and three high school girls who were members of the Kiwanis Key Club. Mayor Stanek proclaimed the week of November 4-10 as Local Proclamatio► Kiwanis Key Club Week. Motion by Smith, seconded by Snell, to authorize the Supt. of Street Main Public Works to include on the Summer Street Maintenance Program seal coating on a section of Logan Street and blacktopping of North Avenue between Ramble Road and Willow Lane in Lakeland Park. Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Datz, seconded by Snell, to go into executive session at 7:44 P.M. for the purpose of discussing possible acqui- sition. Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Mayor Stanek declared a recess from executive session at 9:55 P.M. The meeting reconvened at 10:08 P.M. with all Aldermen still in attendance in executive session. Motion by Snell, seconded by Serritella, to go back into open session at 11:59 P.M. Voting Aye: Bolger•, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Nolan, seconded by Serritella, to authorize and approve the attendance Park of Personnel at a conference in Rosemont in November and authorize and approve the attendance of Park Director Merkel at the National Park Convention in Wheeling, West Virginia in March of 1985. Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Serritella, to go into exe- cutive session at 12:02 A.M. for continuing discussion of possible acquisition. Wednesday, October 17, 1984 Page two, Motion by Snell, seconded by McClatchey, to go back into open session at 12:13 A.M. Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Water Co. City of McHenry and T.P. Mathews came to an agreement that the City would purchase the Lakeland Park Water Company at a cost of $480,000.00 contingent upon T.P. Mathews completing installation of all meters under Lakeland Park Water Company jurisdiction, and that a pressure test on the water mains in the Lakeland Park Water Company jurisdiction, which would be done under the supervision of City Engineers, would determine that the water lines are in satisfactory condition. and Acquisition In other business Attorney Narusis reported that he had received the deed from the Lakeland Park: Property Owners Association arks Donations for the community house and surrounding park. The deeds for the west beach, east beach, and boat launch have not as yet been delivered to him. The deeds will be recorded as soon as he receives them. Motion by Smith, seconded by McClatchey, to adjourn. Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
