The Regular Meeting of th McHenry City Council was called to order by Mayor Stanek on Monday, Oc ober 5, 1981 at 8 P.M. At roll call the following aldermen were present: M�urer, Serritella, Smith, Wieser, Datz, Harker, Nolan. Absent: Pepping. Motion by Nolan, seconded�by Serritella,to accept the minutes of the September 21, 1981 Regular Meet�ng and of the September 22, 1981 Special Meeting as read with one correction,, Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Wieser, Datz, Harker, Nolan. Voting Nay: None. Absent: Pepping. Motion carried. Motion by Datz, seconded by Smith, to pass an Ordinance amending the Subdivision Control Ordinance requiring new type manhole covers. Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Wieser, Datz, Harker, Nolan. Voting Nay: None. Absent: Pepping. Motion carried. Motion by Datz, seconded �y Meurer, to authorize and approve the purchase of a Workman's Compensatioh Insurance Policy from the Arthur J. Gallagher Company at an annual premium rate of $37,272.00, as recommended by the Insurance Committee. Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Wieser, Datz, Harker, Nolan. Voting Nay: None. Motion by Smith, seconded by Serritella, to reinstitute the snow- Snow - plowing program in Feger's subdivision, Country Club Drive and the north end plowing of Park Street which are all outsi�e the city limits, with the same rates applying as last year. Monday, October 5, 1981 Page 4 Authori- Motion by Nolan, seconded by Datz, �o authorize the Mayor to send a zation letter to the Chicago North Western Transportation Company stating the City's CNWRR objection to the proposed change in service at the CNWRR depot in McHenry. Motion by Wieser, seconded by Hark r, to authorize and approve the Tag day request of the Knights of Columbus for a tag ay on October 31, 1981. Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Weiser, Datz, Harker, Nolan. Voting Nay: None. Absent: Pepping. Motion carried. Motion by Wieser, seconded by Nolan, to authorize the city to extend and pay for extention of a water service from the west of Front Street to a Water property located on the east side of the high*ay at 904 N. Front Street with the Line Street Mainte- nance city's cost to be $475.00. Voting Aye: Serritella, Smith, Wieser, Nolan. Voting Nay: Meurer, Datz, Harker, tanek. Absent: Pepping. Motion did not carry. Motion by Serritella, seconded by Wieser, to authorize the city to install blacktop on the right-of-way and property in front of 1304 N. Front Street with one-half of the costs to be paid �y the owner of the benefited pro- perty up to an amount of $450.00. Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith ,Wieser, Datz, Harker, Nolan. Motion by Wieser, second�d by Smith, to purchase 6+ (six plus) acres of land from Charles J. Miller at'a cost of $35,000.00, said property being south of and contiguous to the Decker property north of Bull Valley Road, and to authorize Attorney Narusis to �roceed with necessary paperwork to complete the purchase. Voting Aye: Meurer, Serr�tella, Smith, Wieser, Datz, Harker, Nolan. Voting Nay: None. Absent: Pepping. Motion carried. Autho- rization Land Acquis- ition Motion by Serritella, se onded by Meurer, to pass a Resolution Resolution, reaffirming the action taken by t�e Council on August 31, 1981, to call up Irrevocable Letter of Credit #79-�L09 dated October?_6, 1979 at the First National McH. Lakes Bank of Woodstock and request the'$70,000.00 balance in that Letter of Credit Estate because developers, Howard Orleans, Milfred Towne and the American National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago, have failed to satisfactorily complete or carry on the work of the installation Ind construction of the required improvements in the McHenry Lakes Unit I subdivislion.
