MONDAY, AUGUST 29, 1983 8:00 P.M.
The Regular Meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to
order by Mayor Stanek on Monday, August 29, 1983 at 8:00 P.M. in city hall.
At roll call the following aldermen were present: Bolger, Nolan, Busse,
Datz, McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Absent: None. City staff in
attendance were Supt. Halvensleben, Attorney Narusis, Clerk Gilpin, Chief
Pasenelli, Park Director Merkel.
Motion by Datz, seconded by Bolger, to accept the minutes of the
August 15, 1.983 Regular Meeting and the minutes of the August 22, 1983
Special Meeting as presented.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Shiith,
Snell, Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Nolan, to pass an ordinance annex-
ing St. Paul's Avenue, Ray Stilling property on Route 31 south and Tom Adams
property on Route 31 south.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, McClatchey.
Voting Nay: Smith, Serritella, Snell.
Absent: None.
Motion carriied.
A Public Hearing on the proposed 1983-84 Levy Ordinance was called
to order at 8:09 by Mayor Stanek to hear comments or accept written state-
ments from the general public on the proposed ordinance.
Mayor Stanek asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished
to have some input on the proposed ordinance. There was no response.
Motion by Busse, seconded by Nolan, to pass the 1983-84 Levy Ordi-
nance as recommended by the Finance Committee in the amount of $912,500.00
withthe proposed police protection amount of $41,000.00and a proposed street
lighting amount of $55,000.00.
Voting Aye: Nolan, Busse, Datz.
Voting Nay: Bolger, McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella.
Absent: None.
Motion did not pass.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Serritella, to pass the 1983-84 Levy
Ordinance in the amount of $912,500.00 with a proposed police protection
amount of $20,000.00 and a proposed street lighting amount of $35,000.00.
Voting Aye: Bolger, McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella, Stanek.
Voting Nay: Nolan, Busse, Datz.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Mayor Stanek called a recess at 8:55 P.M. The meeting reconvened
at 9:11 P.M. with everyone still in attendance.

in the amount of $104,890.00 which was the first payment due on the

sufficient funds in the bond proceeds to make the first payment.

September 7„ 1983 as the next Regular Council Meeting since the regular
meeting datE, falls on Labor Day.

the request of the American Diabetes Association for a tag day on September 30,
1983 and approve the request of the March of Dimes for a door-to-door solici-
tation on January 29, 1984.
