HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 08/18/1989 - City CouncilBOARD OF LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS MEETING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 16, 1989 The Board of Local Improvements Meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to order by President William J. Busse on August 16, 1989 at 8:04 P.M. at City Hall. At roll call the following Board Members were present: Bolger, Donahue, Lieder, Teta, Smith, McClatchey, Patterson, Serritella. Absent: None. City staff in attendance were Director of Public Works Batt, Clerk Gilpin, Park Director Merkel, Chief Joyce, Finance and Personnel Administrator Vitas, Director of Development Greenwood. Absent: Attorney Narusis. A letter was submitted by Dennis P. Shinks of Baxter & Woodman requesting approval of Change Order No. 2 amending the McHenry Shores Area Sanitary Sewer System Special Assessment No. 31 Project. The Change Order amended the contract between the City of McHenry and George W. Kennedy Construction Company Inc., Contractor, dated June 1, 1988 for the following change to the contract: The contractor is to provide aggregate shoulders at Broadway, Hilltop Boulevard, Biscayne Road and Still Hill Drive to prevent pavement edge damage. The amended change order would authorize work which would consist of furnishing, placing, shaping and compacting additional gravel to shore up the shoulders of the roads from 12 inches to 24 inches width as directed by the Engineer. The additional cost of $9,600 would be paid out the excess balance in the Special Assessment Sewer Project Fund. The contract completion date remains September 7, 1989. Motion by Smith, seconded by Serritella, to approve Change Order No. 2 as recommended by Baxter & Woodman. Voting Aye: Bolger, Donahue, Lieder, Teta, Smith, McClatchey, Patterson, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Serritella, seconded by Teta, to adjourn the Board of Local Improvements Meeting at 8:08 P.M. Voting Aye: Bolger, Donahue, Lieder, Teta, Smith, McClatchey, Patterson, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
