MONDAY, AUGUST 17, 1981 8 P.M.
The Regular Meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor I
Council
Stanek on Monday, August 17, 1981 at 8 P.M. At roll call the following aldermen Mtg.
were present: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Wieser, Datz, Nolan, Pepping. Absent:
Harker. Also in attendance were Supt. Weber, Attorney Narusis, Clerk Gilpin,

Chief Pasenelli arrived at 8:20 and Park Director Merkel arrived at 8:23 P.M.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Datz, to approve the minutes of the
August 3, 1981 Regular Meeting as read.
Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Wieser, Datz, Nolan, Pepping.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Harker.
Motion carried.
Mayor Stanek presented checks to Supt. Richard Farmer of School District
15 and Supt. Robert Swartzloff of School District 156 in the amount of $19,007.50 Dev-

each which represented money collected by the city from Developer Donations for Dona-

the schools. Both administrators expressed thanks in behalf of their respective
School Boards.
Bryce Klontz, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of
Fiesta Days, addressed the Council and reported that expenses incurred in the
rewiring of Pearl Street Park exceeded the estimated costs by $679.02. Klontz
asked the Council if it would consider paying one-half of these costs with the
Chamber picking up the other half.

Discussion was held on a grant application made by the McHenry County
toning Association for the Retarded for development of two group homes to house the
developmentally disabled at 409 N. Front Street and near the corner of Lillian
and Front Street. No action was taken except to instruct Attorney Narusis
to consult with the attorney for the Association regarding zoning questions.
Alderman Nolan of the Street and Sidewalk Committee presented a report
3uilding on the request of McDeli Delicatessen at 3406 W. Elm Street for permission to

install tables on the sidewalk in front of their shop. It was decided further
investigation should be made on the matter.
Chairman Datz of the Public Property Committee reported he had examined
the concrete light poles for sale in Wheeling and they appeared to be in good
kuthori-
;ation condition. Prior approval was given to spend up to $2,000 for purchase of

these light poles. The poles, arms and light fixtures cost $240.00 each.
However, the poles cannot be transported to McHenry because of the Heavy Equip-
ment Operator's strike which is in progress. Further action will be taken when
the strike is over.
Motion by Pepping, seconded by Nolan, to authorize and approve payment
of the bills as presented with the condition that one-half of the Peter Baker
Company bill for blacktopping used in reconstruction of the railroad tracks
at Orleans Street be sent to Towne & Orleans for payment as per the annexation
agreement.

Lakewood Drive on August 23 from noon to 10 P.M. Bromley from Kensington Street,

to 309 Bromley on September 6 from 1:00 P.M. to midnight; Cambridge from Cambridge
to Ashland from noon to 10 P.M. on August 22.

Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. for preliminary engineering services as follows:
$8,873.31 as partial payment in connection with the Meadow Lane FAU project and
$3,140.99 as partial payment for Phase I in connection with Green Street FAU
project with payment to be made from the Motor Fuel Tax Fund.
