WEDNESDAY, JULY 10, 1980 8 P.M.
A Public Hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, July 10, 1980 at 8 P.M. for
the purpose of continuing a recessed hearing regarding the proposed Annexation
of Valleybrook Subdivision located at the southwest corner of Bull Valley and
Crystal Lake Roads. This Public Hearing was recessed from June 11, 1980.
City Attorney Bernard Narusis and Deputy Clerk Anne Kranz were present
to monitor the presence of any persons in attendance for the Public Hearing.
Attorney Narusis announced that Ray Schmitt of Faestel Investments, co -
petitioners in the annexation proposal of Valleybrook Subdivision, telephoned
the City Clerk's office at approximately 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday, July 10, 1980,
to request that the scheduled Public Hearing be cancelled. Because of illness
in his family, the petitioner's attorney, Richard Zukowski, was unable to
attend the hearing. Deputy Clerk Anne Kranz took the call and contacted City
Attorney Narusis as to the proper procedure to handle this matter. She was
instructed to contact each Alderman and the Mayor to inform them of the
cancelled meeting and told that someone from the City Clerk's office should
appear at the scheduled meeting to notify any members of the public who might
appear for the hearing and to record any action.
Attorney Narusis asked if anyone in the audience was present in connection
with the Valleybrook Annexation matter and there was no response. Neither the
Mayor nor any aldermen were in attendance.
Attorney Narusis related that the petitioners requested a tentative date
of Wednesday, August 6, 1980 at 8 P.M. for continuation of the Public Hearing.
A definite date will be set by the City Council at its regular meeting on Monday,
July 21, 1980.
