Stanek on Monday, June 15, 1981, at 8 P.M. At roll call, the following alder- council Mtg. men were present: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Pepping. Absent: Wieser. Also in attendance were Supt. Weber., Attorney Narusis, Clerk Gilpin, Park Director Merkel. Motion by Serritella,._ seconded by Nolan, to approve the minutes of the June 1, 1981 Regular Meeting as read. Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Pepping. Voting Nay: None. Absent: Wieser. Motion carried. Bryce Klontz, Chairman of the 1981 Fiesta Day program, gave a report to the Council on proposed plans for this year's festivities. Motion by Meurer, seconded by Datz, to authorize Monday, July 6th as celebration of the July 4th holiday for city employees. Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Pepping. Voting Nay: None. Absent: Wieser. Motion carried. Joan Schwegel, Chairman of the Plan Commission, addressed the Council and asked that a Special Meeting be held so the Plan Commission could address zoning Ordi- the Council regarding their proposal for establishment of a text change in the nance Zoning Ordinance for a Light Commercial District. District and to discuss, and possibly take action, on Salary and Wage Ordinance modifications. An update of the Boone Creek dredging project was given by Mayor Boone Stanek and Jerome Miller of Lakeland Construction Company. Handicapped Allen Atchison addressed the Council concerning the removal of a Iark- ing Handicapped Parking space in front of his place of business at 1228 N. Green Street. Motion by Smith, seconded by Harker, to deny Atchison's request for removal of the Handicap Parking Space at 1228 N. Green Street. Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Pepping. Voting Nay: None. Absent: Wieser. Motion carried. Monday, June 15, 1981 Page 3 Mayor Stanek called for a recess at 9:25 P.M. The meeting reconvened at 9:43 P.M. with everyone still in attendance. Motion by Datz, seconded by Harker, to accept the May Treasurer's Report as presented. Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Pepping. Voting Nay: None. Absent: Wieser. Motion carried. Motion by Pepping, seconded by Meurer, to accept the May Clerk's Report as presented. Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Pepping. Voting Nay: None. Absent: Wieser. Motion carried. Motion by Harker, seconded by Datz, to authorize the Clerk and Supt. of Public Works to et rice quotes on gasoline for the underground tanks from 9 P q 9 9 Gasoline local distributors whenever the tanks run low, with purchase to be made at the best price quoted. Motion by Harker, seconded by Meurer, to authorize and approve payment of the following General Obligation Sewer Bond Issues: First National Bank of Chicago for 1969 Sewer Improvement Bond: Interest $5,400.00, Bank fees $25.00 = Total$5',425.00 ; Home State Bank of Crystal Lake for IL966 Storm Sewer Bond: Interest $809.34, Paying Agent Fees $35.00 = Total $844.34. Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Pepping. Voting Nay: None. Absent: Wieser. Motion carried. Mayor Stanek announced that he had received a letter of resignation from Mrs. Ruth Fenwick, a member of the Library Board. He accepted it with regret. He also read a letter from Walter Morris of 916 Essex Court who had been asked by Mayor Stanek to submit a resume,for the Library Board. Appointments for the Library Board will be submitted at the June 29th meeting. Motion by Smith, seconded by Serritella, to present the 1981-82 appropriation Ordinance at a public hearing on June 29, 1981 at 7:30 P.M. Bond Pay- ments Resign- ation Public Hrg. Motion by Datz, seconded by Harker, to purchase Public Employee's Insur- ansu Blanket Bond Insurance from A.J. Gallagher & Co. at the $50,000.00 limit ce coverage at a premium of $300 annually or $760.00 for a 3-year pre -paid premium. Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Pepping. Voting Nay: None. Absent: Wieser. Motion carried. Fiesta Week Motion by Serritella, seconded by Pepping, to approve the recommendation of the Band Comittee and hire the Even Steven Band for Fiesta Week Teen Nite at a cost of $400.00 Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Pepping.
