MONDAY, JUNE 7, 1982 8:00 P.M.
The regular meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to order
by Mayor Stanek on Monday, June 7, 1982 at 8 P.M. in city hall. At roll call Council
the following aldermen were present: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Wieser, Datz, Meeting
Harker, Nolan, Pepping. Absent: None. Other city personnel present were Attendance
Attorney Narusis and City Clerk Gilpin. Absent: Chief Pasenelli and Park
Director Merkel.
Motion by Serritella, seconded by Harker, to accept the minutes
of the June 2, 1982 regular meeting as presented.
Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Wieser, Datz, Harker,
Nolan, Pepping.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
A Public Hearing on establishment of 4 Special Service Area for McHenry
the purpose of taxing property to obtain fundslto pay for extension of Hospital
utility lines to the new McHenry Hospital site was called to order by Mayor Special
Stanek. Those in attendance besides city offi ials mentioned above were: Service
John Smith, Paul Halvensleben, Martin Koleno, �ynne Donarski, Tony Oliver, Area
Donna Bertulis, Kevin Bauer, Rich Kretschmer.
Motion by Serritella, seconded by Pepping to pass a Special Service
Area Ordinance which outlined the area to be of f ected with a special tax for
extension of utility lines to the new McHenry Hospital site, all of which "
property is located on the parcel owned by McHenry Hospital. Ordinances
Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Nolan, Pepping, Harker.
Voting Nay: Wieser.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Wieser, to change the date of the Annexation
Public Hearing on the Neumann -Lampe annexation agreement from July 12, 1982 Public Hear -
to June 24, 1982 at 8 P.M.
Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, ing
Pepping, Wieser.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Nolan, to approve the Mayor's appoint-
ment of Paul J. Halvensleben as Superintendent of Public Works for fiscal Appointments
year 1982-83 with a starting employment datef June 14, 1982. Employees
Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan,
Pepping, Wieser.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Serritella, seconded by Smith, to authorize and approve Park
the use of Knox Park for a baseball tournament'on August 6, 7, & 8 to be Authorizatior
sponsored by the Rusty Nail Baseball Team.
Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan,
Pepping, Wieser.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Chairman Smith of the Building and Zo ing Committee gave a report Zoning
on the requested Zoning Ordinance change by Mc enry County Association for Matter
the Retarded in connection with construction o group homes. He said no
recommendation was made. Wieser asked that it be noted on the record that he
would not vote on any recommendations regardin group homes because of a
conflict of interest due to his business relationship with the McHenry County
Association for the Retarded.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Serritella, to pass an ordinance Ordinance
prohibiting parking on the east side of SunsetiDrive from the bridge to
Parking
Willow Street.
