The regular meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to order by Mayor Stanek on Monday, June 6, 1983 at 8:00 P.M. in City Hall. At roll call the following Aldermen were present: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, McClat- Council chey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. City staff in attendance were Supt Halven- Meeting sleben, Attorney Narusis, Clerk Gilpin, Chief Pasenelli, Park Director Merkel. Attendance Motion by Nolan, seconded by Datz, to accept the minutes of the May 31st regular meeting as presented. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. James Althoff of Althoff Industries addressed the Council and requested permission to transport and install an Amtrak Railroad club car on his property at the corner of Crystal Lake Road and Main Street for use by the Taylor Made Golf Co., for a professional Hall of Fame and to conduct seminars. Althoff stated they had no intention of making a restaurant or a tavern. Motion by Nolan, seconded by McClatchey, to grant permission for trans- Requests - portation and installation of the railroad club car on Althoff's property at Misc. the corner of Crystal Lake and Main Streets to be used only for a professional Hall of Fame and for conducting seminars. j Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. A Resolution commending former lst Ward Alderman Jack Pepping for his Resolutions' service to the City of McHenry was presented to Mr. Pepping by Mayor Stanek. Commenda- He expressed appreciation on behalf of all the citizens of McHenry for Pepping's tion service to the City. A similar Resolution will be awarded to former 4th Ward Alderman Ronald Meurer for his past service to the City. Motion by Smith, seconded by Snell to authorize and approve the Chamber Chamber of Commerce request to waive the itinerent restaurant fees for 4 restaurants of Commerce; doing business in the City during the 1983 Fiesta Days event. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Fiesta Absent: None. Days Motion carried. Motion by Snell, seconded by Nolan, to grant a beer of Commerce for the 1983 Fiesta Day activities. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. permit to the Chamber Chamber of Comm. Smith, Snell, Serritella. Fiesta Days & Park Dept Beer Perm. Motion by Datz, seconded by Busse, to award the contract to the low bidder Sewer who was Illinois Hydraulic Construction Company of Elgin, Illinois in the amount nept. of $111,600 for the installation of the centrifuge, at the Sewer Plant. Purchases Motion by Nolan, seconded by Snell, to grant the request of Mrs. James Sewer Dept LaRose for a block party in Fox Ridge Subdivision on August 6, 1983 and to Block approve blocking off Windridge Drive from Sandburg Drive to Farrington Drive parties from noon to 2:00 a.m. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None Motion carried. EPA & Motion by Datz, seconded by Bolger, to authorize the Supt. of Public (Sewer Works, the Mayor and Clerk to make application to the Illinois Environmental 'Dept. Protection Agency for sewer line permits for Winding Creek Unit 3 with the !Repairs & stipulation that Residential Development Group undertakes Option 4 as out - 'Improve. lined in the May 30, 1983 letter from City Engineers, Baxter & Woodman. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Parks-Auth. Motion by Nolan, seconded by Smith, to authorize Park Director Merkel to make Etc. application to the Illinois Department of Conservation for a land and water Grants conservation grant for development of a pond in the West end of Knox Park and Knox Pk. to approve an expenditure of up to $500 to get the necessary information to Dev. persue the grant application. The City will be reimbursed up to 50% of the cost of the grant. The deadline to apply is July 1, 1983. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Smith, Serritella. Voting Nay: Snell. Absent: None. Motion carried. 'Park Donations Mayor Stanek acknowledged receipt of a donation of $300 from the McHenry & Dona- Junior Women's Civic Group for the parks' development and receipt of a $100 tions to check from Burger King Restaurant as a park donation. Voting Nay: Busse, McClatchey, Snell, Serritella There being a tie vote Mayor Stanek cast a Nay vote and declared the Motion did not carry. Public Motion by Smith, seconded by Busse, to authorize the hiring of Althoff Prop Industries to review the entire air-conditioning and venting system of the Purch. & City Hall, Police Department and Council Chambers and come back with a Repairs recommendation on how to update the system. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by McClatchey,to adjourn.
