Regular Meeting of the McHenry City Council by Mayor Busse on Mondayā€˛ May 13, 1985 at 8:00 p.m. in city hall. At roll call the following aldermen were present: Bolger, Nolan, Teta, Lieder, McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Absent: None. City staff in attendance were Supt. Halvensleben, Chief Joyce, Park Director Merkel, City Attorney Narusis, Clerk Gilpin. Motion by Nolan, seconded by Serritella, to accept the minutes of the May 6, 1985 Regular Meeting as presented. Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Snell, seconded by Nolan, to approve requests for block parties by Evelyn Hintz on Bradley Court on July 4 and for Cindy Parks on Huntington Drive on June 22, 1985. Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Council Mtg. Attendance Block Parties Motion by Smith, seconded by Snell, to authorize and approve Parks -Beer the issuance of picnic beer permits as presented. Permits Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by McClatchey, seconded by Lieder, to accept the April Treasurer's Report as presented. Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion Clerk's Report Voting by Smith, seconded by Snell, to accept the April Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Alderman Smith, Chairman of the Street & Sidewalk Committee, reported on a recent Street & Sidewalk Committee meeting held con- cerning the 1985 Summer Street Maintenance Program and consideration of additional parking for city hall. He reported that continued investigation would be made concerning the elimination of the island at the corner of Waukegan and Green for possible installation of parking spaces. Alderman McClatchey, Chairman of the Personnel Committee, reported on the Personnel Committee Meeting held prior to the Regular Council Meeting concerning a grievance submitted by two members of the Police Department. Motion by McClatchey, seconded by Snell, to authorize the Chief of Police to extend one weeks pay to an employee on the Police Communications desk and to extend one weeks vacation to a patrolman in consideration of an oversight made in extending their vacation times with the pay for the vacation week to be figured on the salary applicable at the time of the vacation oversight. Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Employees Monday, May 13, 1985 page 2 Bid Opening& Supt. Halvensleben reported three price proposals had been Awarding to received for a new pickup truck for the Sewer Dept. They were as & follows: Buss Ford - $7,800, Gary Lang Chevrolet - $6,283.57, Purch.-Sewer Mitchell GMC - $6,623.51. All prices included a trade-in. Dept. Motion by Nolan, seconded by Bolger, to authorize and approve the purchase of a pickup truck for the low bid price of Gary Lang Chevrolet in the amount of $6,283.57. Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Serritella, Teta. Voting Nay: None. Abstained: Snell. Absent: None. Motion carried. Discussion was held on methods in which to improve the Park Street drainage problem. Street Motion by Smith, seconded by Snell, to authorize Baxter & Maint & Woodman to investigate the drainage and road problem on Park Street Repair north of Washington Street and to present several options to the Council to correct the situation, specifically in front of 1606 N. Park Street, so that the reconstruction project can be included in the 1985 Summer Street Maintenance Program. Voting Aye: Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Serritella, Teta, Snell. Voting Nay: Bolger. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by McClatchey, to adjourn. Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta. Voting Nay: None.
