MONDAY, APRIL 16, 1984 7:15 P.M.
Mayor Stanek called to order a Public Hearing on the 1984-85 Council
proposed budget for the City of McHenry at which time the public was in- Meeting
vited to participate in the discussion and present oral or written state- Spec. Pub.Hrgs
mentsregarding the proposed control (budget and the relationship of Revenue
Sharing allocations to that budget. At roll call the following aldermen Budget &
were present: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Snell, Serritella. Smith Budget Hearing
arrived at 7:20 P.M. Nolan arrived at 7:23 P.M. Absent: None. City staff
in attendance were Supt. Halvensleben, Attorney Narusis, Clerk Gilpin, Chief
Pasenelli, Park Director Merkel. Members in the audience were John Ward of
Chapman & Cutler, Robert Swain of Chroma Corporation, Mike Reid, Tony Freund,
Jim Wiser and Gary Gough.
Mayor Stanek asked if any members of the audience wished to present
written or oral comments about the proposed Revenue Sharing allocations and
their relationship to the 1984-85 control budget. There was no response from
the audience.
Following discussion by they aldermen, Busse made a motion, seconded Revenue
by Bolger, to accept the Revenue Sharing allocations as proposed by the Finance Sharing
Committee as follows: Mosquito Abatement $12,000.00; Squad Cars for 1985 budget
$60,000; Air Conditioners for City Hall $20,000.00; Word Processors for City
Clerk's Office $20,000.00; Portable Radios for Police Department $5,100.00; New
Vehicle for Public Works Department $10,000.00; Bobcat and Trailer for Public
Works Department $15,000.00; New car for Supt. of Public Works or Building
Inspector $9,000.00; New mower for Park Department $8,500.00; Stencil printer
for Park Department $1,800.00; Park Improvements $10,000.00; McHenry Historical
Society $500.00; General Administration —Property Acquisition $80,000.00 for a
Total of $251,900.00.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith,
Snell, Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Busse, seconded by Serritella, to adjourn the Public Hearing.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith,
Snell, Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
