MONDAY, APRIL 15, 1985 7:00 P.M.
A Public Hearing on the 1985-86 proposed control budget for the
City of McHenry was called to order by Mayor Stanek on Monday, April 15,
1985 at 7:00 p.m. in city hall. The public is invited to participate in
the discussion and present oral or written statements regarding the pro-
posed control budget and the relationship of revenue sharing allocations
to that budget. At roll call the following aldermen were present: Bol-
ger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Snell, Serritella. Smith arrived at 7:10
p.m. Absent: Nolan. City staff in attendance were Supt. Halvensieben,
Attorney Narusis, Clerk Gilpin, Chief Joyce, Park Director Merkel. In
the audience were Jean & Matt Rogers, Gary Gough, Carol Sek, Judy Szilak,
Gus Politis, Dick & Pat Orton, Richard Plate, Bernie Rice, Tony Oliver,
Gary Gilpin, Jim Wiser, Ken Sheridan, John Schmidt, Donna Tobeck, Dorothy
Bangle, Larry Ekeroth.
Mayor Stanek asked if anyone in the audience wished to present
written or oral comments to the Council. There was no response. The
City Clerk reported that four organizations had submitted written re-
quests for Revenue Sharing Funds. They were Family Service & Community
Mental Health Center for McHenry County, $4,000; McHenry County Histori-
cal Society, $200; Easter Seals Society for McHenry County, $1,150; Mc-
Henry Public Library, $3,000. Following discussion it was the consensus
of opinion of the Council that the Revenue Sharing money should be allo-
cated as follows: Mosquito Abatement $3,575.40, Property Acquisition &
Municipal Buildings $63,047.94, Police Computer $20,000, Public Works
Trucks $53,176.66, McHenry County Historical Society $200, for a total
allocation of $140,000.

Motion by Bolger, seconded by Busse, to allocate $200 to the Rev. Shar.
McHenry County Historical Society from Revenue Sharing Funds.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey,
Smith, Snell, Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Nolan.
Motion carried.
Discussion was held on various line items in the proposed
1985-86 control budget.
Motion by Snell, seconded by Datz, to adjourn the Public
Hearing.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey,
Smith, Snell, Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Nolan.
