Mayor Busse called to order a Special Meeting of the City Coun- cil on Monday, April 7, 1986 at 7:30 P.M. in city hall. At roll call the following aldermen were present: Bolger, Nolan, Teta, Lieder, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Absent: McClatchey. City staff in attendance were Attorney Narusis, Clerk Gilpin, Park Director Merkel. Also in attendance was John Gann of Gann and Associates. Park Director Merkel reported that price quotations had been re- ceived for the purchase and installation of trees and shrubs in Veteran's Memorial Park (formerly Pearl Street Park). It was his recommendation that the City Council accept the price quotation submitted by Hoffstetter Corp. of McHenry in the amount of $13,435.00. Hoffstetter would also supply a forklift and three men at no charge for two days of work in in- stalling the trees and shrubs. Council Mtgs.- Attendance Special Mtgs. Motion by Nolan, seconded by Smith, to accept the price quo- Park Improve. tation of Hoffstetter Corp. and award them the job for the amount of $13,435.00. Voting Aye: Lieder, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta. Voting Nay: Bolger. Absent: McClatchey. Motion carried. Motion by Lieder, seconded by Snell, to approve the issuance of a Beer Permit for the Easter Seal Society of McHenry County for their annual softball marathon at Peterson Park on May 3 & 4, 1986. Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta. Voting Nay: None. Absent: McClatchey. Motion carried. Motion by Nolan, seconded by Serritella, to approve the re- quest of Southgate Fabric Care for installation of an alarm on the Police Board at City Hall. Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta. Voting Nay: None. Absent: McClatchey. Motion carried. John Gann and the City Council then undertook discussion of yards, fences and administration revisions in the zoning ordinance. It was the consensus of opinion that a total of two accessory buildings should be allowed on a residential lot, but that the total square footage of both buildings should not exceed 900 square feet, with the stipulation that a garage cannot exceed 700 square feet, and a storage shed cannot exceed 300 square feet. Mayor Busse called for a recess at 9:26 P.M. The meeting reconvened at 9:37 P.M. with everyone still in attendance. Discussion continued on administration revisions of the zoning ordinance. Alderman Serritella left the meeting at 11:18 P.M. The next special meeting for discussion of zoning revisions was set for Monday, April 21, 1986 at 7:30 P.M. Motion by Smith, seconded by Teta, to Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella, Voting Nay: None. Absent: McClatchey. Motion carried.
