MONDAY, MARCH 30, 1981 8 P.M.
The Regular Meeting of the City Council was called to order by

Mayor Stanek on Monday, March _20,1981 at 8 P.M. At roll call the following Mtg.
aldermen were present: Meurer, Schooley, Adams, Wieser, Datz, Harker, Nolan.

Absent: Pepping. Also in attendance were Supt. Weber, Attorney Narusis, Clerk dance
Gilpin, Chief Pasenelli, Park Director Merkel.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Nolan, to accept the minutes of the
March 16, 1981 Regular Meeting as read with one correction.
Voting Aye: Meurer, Schooley, Adams, Wieser, Datz, Harker, Nolan.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Pepping.
Motion carried.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Harker, to grant permission to the
McHenry Jaycees to conduct a race along city streets as a fund raising project
to send children to Camp New Hope, with the race being scheduled for Sunday,

Mayor Stanek read his letter vetoing the action at the March 16th

meeting regarding acceptance of the Comprehensive Plan and Land Use Map 2000.sive Plan

Discussion took place between the Council, Plan Commission members and the

Motion by Wieser, seconded by Schooley, to over -ride the mayor's veto.

Absent: Pepping.
Motion did not carry.
Motion by Wieser, seconded by Harker, to approve the proposed
Comprehensive Plan and Land Use Map 2000 as presented with the following
revisions: Change the multi -family area east of Petersen Park (King Farm)
from multi -family to urban single family; change the culdesac area in McHenry
Lakes Estates north of the cemetery from commercial to urban single family--

see Pg. 1 leave the lots abutting Route 31 from the cemetery north to McCullom Lake Road
as straight commercial to their rear lot lines; on south Route 31 west of
St. Paul's Avenue, divide the property lengthwise along the section line and
make the westerly portion abutting the highway as commercial and the easterly
portion as urban single family; change the area at the corner of Ringwood and
Flanders Road from commercial to urban single family on the northeast and
southeast corners; from the northboundary of the Animal Hospital on South
Route 31 (Fike Property) to the corner of Kane & Front Streets, change it
from commercial to urban single family; eliminate all light commercial
designations on the map and make them regular commercial.
Voting Aye: Stanek, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Adams, Schooley, Meurer.
Voting Nay: Nolan.
Absent: Pepping.
Motion carried.
Mayor Stanek called for a recess at 9:21 P.M. The meeting reconvened
at 9:39 P.M. with everyone still in attendance.
Bids for drilling Well No. 7 were opened March 26, 1981 at 10:00
A.M. Following is a tabulation of the bids received: McHenry County Well & Pump
$14,742.00; Henry Boysen Company $16,580.00; Joseph Huemann& Sons $18,347.00;
Milaeger Well & Pump Company $23,464.00; Layne Western Company $26,280.00;
Wehling Well Works $39,546.00.
