MARCH 12, 1986 6:30 P.M.
Committee Meeting of the Whole was called to order by Mayor
Busse on Wednesday, March 12, 1986 at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall. At roll Council
call the following Aldermen were present: Bolger, Smith, Snell, Mtgs.-
Serritella. McClatchey arrived at 7:12 p.m. Nolan arrived at 7:20 p•m• Ctte. Mtg.
Absent: Tetra and Lieder. City staff in attendance were Supt. Batt, Whole
Clerk Gilpin. Also in attendance was Philip Wheelock of Baxter & Woodman.
Purpose of the meeting was to discuss the condition of the Attendance
Riverside Drive sewer lines between Pearl Street and Elm Street which was
built about 1932. Wheelock reported the line was deteriorating and
needed to be repaired or replaced. Replacement cost would be $173,600
plus a lift station. Repair of the existing line would cost approxi-
mately $303,000.
Following his presentation, it was the consensus of opinion to
proceed with engineering costs for replacement of the sewer line at a Sewer Line
cost of $17.3,600 plus approximately $40,000 for the lift station. Repairs
It was also decided to call a Committee Meeting of the Whole for
Monday, March 24, 1986 at 7:30 p.m. for the purpose of informing the
tenants and owners of buildings along Riverside Drive between Pearl and
Elm of the sewer line condition.
The meeting adjourned at 7:27 P.M.
