MONDAY, MARCH 8, 1982 7:30 P.M.
The Special Meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to Special
order by Mayor Stanek on Monday, March 8, 1982 at 7:30 P.M. for the Meeting
purpose of discussion and possible action on the Illinois Environmental
Protection Agency letter regarding the McHenry Shores Facilities Plan- Attendance
ning Area in connection with the proposed McHenry Hospital sewer serv-
ice area and to handle any and all other business which might properly
come before the Council. At roll call the following aldermen were
present: Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Smith, Serritella,
Meurer. Absent: None.
Also present were Supt. Weber, Attorney Narusis, Clerk
Gilpin, Dr. Hal Sundin of Baxter & Woodman, McHenry Hospital Executive
Director Kenneth Bast, Hospital Attorney Jeff Ladd, members of the
Hospital Board and many interested citizens of the McHenry area.

Discussions and presentations were then made by Dr. Sundin McHenry Hospi
and Attorney Narusis as to the implications of the IEPA letter re- Relocation
ceived March 6, 1982 regarding the city's ability to service the
proposed hospital at its site on Bull Valley Road. The aldermen and Water Sewer
mayor participated in the discussions along with members of the McHenry Extension
Hospital Board and staff. Members of the audience also commented on
the facts as presented.
Aldermen were asked if they wished to comment or reverse the
position they took at the March 1, 1982 Council Meeting regarding the McHenry Shores
annexation of McHenry Shores in light of the new facts presented at Annexation
this meeting. Alderman Pepping was the only one to state that he
had reversed his thinking and would support the annexation of McHenry
Shores in order to facilitate the construction of McHenry hospital.
In other business, motion by Smith, seconded by Harker, to Sludge Manage -
authorize the expenditure of $2,000.00 to conduct testing in connec- ment
tion with a future sludge management program.
