WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 1980 7:30 P.M.
Mayor Stanek called to order a Public Hearing on the proposed use
of Revenue Sharing Funds for the City of McHenry on Wednesday, February 20,
1980 at 7:30 P.M. Approximately $70,334.00 will be allocated to city govern-
ment for final Entitlement Period No. 11 which ends September 30, 1980 under
the existing Revenue Sharing Funding Program. The $70,334.00 allocation will
be incorporated into the City of McHenry's 1980-81 Fiscal Year Budget. The
Public was invited to participate at this hearing and present oral or written
statements as to how the Revenue Sharing Funds should be appropriated. Comments
will be accepted and questions answered regarding allocation of these funds.
Local organizations, clubs, senior citizens groups, youth organizations and
other interested citizens were encouraged to participate and present their
views.
At roll call, the following aldermen were present: Pepping, Harker,
Datz, Wieser, Adams, Schooley, Meurer. Absent: Nolan.
The following persons appeared to request funds from the Revenue
Sharing Fund Allocation:
Doug Pratt of the McHenry Alternative High School requested $5,000.00.
Carmen Hodges and Phil Gust of the McHenry Area Rescue Squad -no set amount.
Robert O'Brien of McHenry Public Library -no set amount.
Mark Haggett of the McHenry County Historical Society requested $3,500.00.
Joan Schradt of the Youth Service Bureau for McHenry County requested
$5,841.00.
Mayor Stanek requested, that money be allocated for a dredge which
the city could operate itself to dredge Petersen Park. Beach and Boone Creek.
He requested approximately 507. of the allocation be set aside for this project.
Alderman Pepping asked that money be allocated for the mosquito
abatement program as has been done in past years.
Alderman Schooley suggested money be allocated for traffic relief
purposes in regard to the proposed Oak Street bridge over the creek at the
east end of Lakeland Park in the Industrial section of McHenry Lakes Estates
subdivision.

Stanek asked that the Senior Citizens be considered in the allocation
of funds even though a representative was not present.
There being no further continents or requests motion by Pepping,
seconded by Datz, to adjourn the hearing.
Voting Aye: Pepping, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Adams, Schooley, Meurer.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Nolan.
Motion carried.
Public Hearing was adjourned at 8:04 P.M.
