MONDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 1985 7:30 P.M.
The Regular Meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to
order by Mayor Stanek on Monday, February 18, 1985 at 7:30 P.M. in city
hall. At roll call the following Aldermen were present: Bolger, Nolan,
McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Absent: Busse, Datz. City Staff
in attendance were Supt. Halvensleben, Attorney Narusis, City Clerk
Gilpin, Police Chief Joyce, Park Director Merkel.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by McClatchey, to accept the minutes
of the February 4, 1935 and February 11, 1985 Regular Meetings as pre-
sented.
Voting Aye: Bolger, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell,
Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Busse, Datz.

creating the McHenry Historic Landmark Commission and outlining its rules Landmark

Motion by Smith, seconded by

Baxter & Woodman reported that bid opening had been held on
February 15, 1985 in their offices for iron removal equipment for City
Wells. Two bids were received. Tonca Equipment Company - $68,875.00 and
General Filter Company - $79,337.00. It was the recommendation of Baxter
& Woodman that the bid be awarded to the low bidder, Tonca Equipment
Company. ' '
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Bolger, to award the bid to Tonca
Equipment Company for $68,875.00 as low bidder on the iron removal equip-
ment as recommended by Baxter & Woodman.
Voting Aye: Bolger, McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell,
Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Busse, Datz.

Skokie Val le Aspphalt for the 1984 Summer Street Maintenance work in the Street
amount of $116,821.01 with payment of $102,157.78 to be paid from MFT Maint.

A letter from Attorney Jim'Cowlin requested that David Wahl be

given 21 days to clean up his property on Court Street. It was the

and that if no corrective action is taken the Council will authorize the
City Attorney to take legal action at the March 11, 1985 meeting.

extended hours of snow plowing for the winter season of 1985-1986.
Some of the men have been on 12 hour duty shifts and he feels that there
should be relief available so these men can get some rest.
It was the consensus of opinion of the Council to have a drawing
Trade Fair
at the McHenry Trade Fair on March 1, 2, 3, 1985 to give away one family
swimming pool pass and 10 single day swimming pool passes per day.
