HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 02/17/1982 - City Council (2)CITY OF McHENRY REVENUE SHARING PROPOSED USE HEARING WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 1982 Mayor Stanek called to order the Public Hearing on the proposed use of Revenue Sharing Funds for the City of McHenry on Wednesday, February 17, 1982, at 7:15 P.M. The hearing was held in order to allocate $136,700 of revenue sharing money which will be received by the city government in the 1982-1983 Fiscal Year. The public is invited to participate at the hearing and present oral and written statements as to how the revenue sharing funds should be appropriated. Comments will be accepted and questions answered regarding allocation of these funds during this hearing. Local organiza- tions, clubs, senior citizens groups, youth organizations and other interested citizens are encouraged to participate and present their views. At roll call the following aldermen were present: Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Serritella, Meurer. Smith arrived at 7:57 P.M. The following people addressed the Council to present their requests: Philip Gust for the McHenry Area Rescue Squad - $10,000. Nancy Fike for the McHenry County Historical Society - $1,000. Karen Pesce for Easter Seal Society for McHenry County- $1,034. Bill Busse for McHenry Public Library - $3,000. Fran Olsen for McHenry Area Economic Development Commission - $3,500. The Mayor and Aldermen presented the following requests: Mayor Stanek - $60,000 for Water/Sewer Improvements. Alderman Meurer - $10,000 for purchase of a car for city personnel. Alderman Serritella - $1,000 for bug lights or some form of mosquito control other than spraying. Aldermen Smith, Wieser, Datz - no requests. Alderman Nolan - $500 for beautification projects. Alderman Pepping - $22,000 mosquito abatement. The mayor asked if there was to address the Council. There being no seconded by Serritella. Voting Aye: Pepping, Nolan, Meurer. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. anyone else in the audience who wished reply, Nolan made a motion to adjourn, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Smith, Serritella, The meeting adjourned at 8:07 P.M.
