WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 1986
The Regular Meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to
order by Mayor Busse on Wednesday, February 5, 1986 at 7:30 P.M. in City Council Mtg.
Hall. At roll call, the following Aldermen were present: Bolger, Nolan, Attendance
Teta, Lieder, McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Absent: None. City
Staff in attendance were Supt. Batt, Attorney Narusis, Clerk Gilpin, Park
Director Merkel, Chief Joyce.
Barbara Lumber, representing Protection Unlimited, Inc. pre-
sented the 1985 Annual Report on mosquito control for the City of McHen-
ry. The total cost for the 1985 season was $2,575.00. She reported that
Nunda Township had contacted them regarding possible mosquito control for
Nunda Township. The McHenry Township Mosquito Abatement Program is ac-
cepting bids on February 13, 1986. When that decision is made, the City
of McHenry will take under consideration a mosquito abatement program for
the 1986 season in the City of McHenry.
Mayor Busse reported that eight bids were received on the Front
Street water main extension looping Anne and High Street under Route 31.

Motion by Bolger, seconded by Snell, to award the bid to Paul J.
May & Sons, Inc. for Parts A & B at the low bid amount of $58,234.15, as
recommended by Baxter & Woodman.

Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.

Motion by McClatchey, seconded by Serritella, to approve the
tag day requests for National Organizations as presented. Tag Days

Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Mayor Busse reported that three bids were received for the
Commuter Parking Lot Improvements on February 4, 198EI as follows:
1. Zimmerman Construction Co., Huntley $145,256.49
2. Alliance Contractors, Inc., Woodstock $147,805.23
3. Caputo Concrete Const. Co, Algonquin $159,681.80
Motion by Lieder, seconded by McClatchey, that the Commuter
Parking Lot Project be awarded to Zimmerman Construction Co. of
Huntley for the low bid amount of $145,256.49, as recommended by Bax-
ter & Woodman, pending concurrence from the Illinois Dept. of Trans-
portation.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Discussion was held on parkway tree planting. Following
discussion, the Park Committee was instructed to study the matter and
report back at a future Council meeting.
Park Director Merkel announced that price proposals had been
submitted for 1986 summer sports equipment as follows: All American

chases- Park Director to purchase athletic equipment as submitted from All -
Park American Co. of Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Motion carried.
Executive Motion by Snell, seconded by Nolan to go into Executive Ses-
Sess. sion at 8:53 P.M. to discuss pending litigation.

Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Snell to go back into open ses-
sion at 10:38 P.M.

Motion carried.
Tabled Motion by Lieder, seconded by Nolan to instruct the City At -
Motions torney to contact Mr. Richard Miller and ask for a settlement of
Bldg. $300.00, and ask that he sign papers stating that he will promise to
& Zng. observe all the City ordinances at the present time and in the future.

the next meeting.

Bldg. Snell asked that Aldermen Bolger and Smith contact Miller
& Zng. one more time to request his compliance with City ordinances and re-

Motion by Smith, seconded by McClatchey to adjourn.
