MONDAY, JANUARY 21, 1980 8 P.M.
The regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, January
21, 1980. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Stanek. At roll call the
following aldermen were present: Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Adams,
Schooley, Meurer. Absent: None.
Motion by Datz, seconded by Adams, to accept the minutes of the
January 7, 1980 Regular Meeting as read with two corrections.
Voting Aye: Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Adams, Schooley,
Meurer.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Mayor Stanek presented Developer Donation checks in the amount of
$3,585.00 each to Dr. Richard Farmer, Supt. of Schools for District 15 and
Robert Swartzloff, Supt. of Schools for District 156. The checks represent
contributions made from August 31, 1979 to December 31, 1979. To date, a
total of $70,272.50 has been paid to each school District as a result of the
Developer Donation Ordinance passed in December of 1977. The Mayor announced
that a check for $2,050.00 would be mailed to the McHenry Public Library
Board as its share of donations collected by the City in connection with the
same Developer Donation Ordinance. To date the Library has received $44,770.00.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Harker, to pass an Ordinance granting
the request of Jay Koeller for B-1 zoning at 5105 W. Elm Street as recommended
by the 'Zoning Board of Appeals with the additional conditions that a sidewalk
be installed along the front of the property and proper screening; be installed
at the rear of the property where it abuts residential property and that
installation of said sidewalk and screening be completed six months from
this Ordinance date.

Treasurer's Report as read.

Motion by Pepping, seconded by Nolan, to accept the December Clerk's
Report as presented.

Motion by Harker, seconded by Datz, to approve Payment Estimate No. 2
to L:eno & Sons in the amount of $48,991.50 as recommended by Baxter &
Woodman for sewage treatment plant: construction.

of $75 each for Ralph Wagner and George Diedrich of the Public Works Department
for retirement gifts.

Motion by Harker, seconded by Nolan, to authorize payment to
Schuster & Co. for the chipper in the amount of $8,625.00 for use by the
Public Works Department.

Motion by Pepping, seconded by Nolan, to authorize final acceptance
of Boone Valley Unit #10 as recommended by Baxter & Woodman.

Motion by Meurer, seconded by Schooley, to authorize the purchase
of a 3 inch diameter sump pump with 100 feet of hose for use by the water
and sewer department at a cost of $1,479.00.

Wieser, Adams.

Motion by Adams, seconded by Nolan, to enter into Executive
Session at 10:11 P.M. for the purpose of discussing pending litigation and
personnel.

Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Adams, seconded by Pepping, to go back into Open Session
at 10:25 P.M.

Motion by Datz, seconded by Meurer, to pay $696.00 toward the
maternity bills for officer William J. Fi.tzgerald's wife, said amount
representing the uninsured portion of the total eligible maternity bills.
Voting Aye: Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Adams, Schooley,
Meurer.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Schooley, seconded by Adams, to accept the 75 percent
settlement proposed by the insurance company of Daniel Thennes in connection
with a traffic accident in which a traffic light standard was damaged.
