Alderman Bolger read the following tribute in memory of Attorney
John Looze who passed away on January 12, 1984:
With the passing of John Looze, McHenry has lost an eloquent
spirit. His wisdom and wit, his love for McHenry and his untiring
efforts for the good of this community will be long remembered by
all who were priveleged to know him.
For 25 years, as our city attorney and civic leader, John un-
selfishly gave of his time. How well we remember his remarkable
efforts, along with his fellow Rotarians, to raise $10,000 in
one week's time so that we could build the first addition to our
library. This and all his contributions to McHenry are legend.
We will miss him. As when a giant oak tree has fallen, there is
a lonesome spot against the sky.
Mayor Stanek read a proclamation
declaring the week of January 15-21
Proclama+
as Jaycee week and urged all the citizens of
our community

tions
gard to the past and continuing services of
the McHenry
Area Jaycees.
