WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 14, 1987 7:30 P.M.
The Regular Meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to
order by Mayor Busse on Wednesday, January 14, 1987 at 7:30 P.M. at City Council
Hall. At roll call the following Aldermen were present: Bolger, Lieder, Mtg.
McClatchey, Nolan, Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta. Absent: None. City Attendance
staff in attendance were Supt. Batt, Attorney Narusis, Clerk Gilpin, Park
Director Merkel, Chief Joyce.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Snell, to accept the minutes of the
January 7, 1987 Regular Meeting as presented with one correction.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta.
Voting May: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Snell, seconded by McClatchey, to approve the request
of the Landmark Commission and approve plaquing of the Harrison Smith Landmark
Home at 3804 W. Main Street which was built in 1872. Comm.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by McClatchey, seconded by Nolan, to pass an ordinance Ordinances
establishing a two hour parking zone from 8:00 A.M. to Noon on school
days on John Street west of Green Street to Fourth Street. Parks Regs.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta.
Voting May: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Alderman Snell suggested that another goal for the City would be
to work in the future toward moving the corporate limits east of the
City.
Mayor Busse proclaimed February 1 - 7, 1987 as National Com- Proclamation:
munity College Week in honor of the McHenry County College.
Motion by Teta, seconded by Serritella, to pursue finding out if
there is any potential insurance liability for the City in plowing the Snowplowing
private roadway known as Lakewood Drive and to secure releases from (Outside
Lakewood Subdivision property owners if necessary. City)

Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta.

Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Teta, seconded by Snell , to approve the attendance of
Sue Christensen at McHenry County College for a course toward her Employees
Associate of Applied Sciences degree in accounting.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Nolan, to authorize
the purchase of a matrix printer and silencer cover for the
Department at a cost of $4,500.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Snell, seconded by Nolan, to authorize the
to purchase a Record -A -Phone for the Public Works line.
