THURSDAY, JANUARY 14, 1982 7:30 P.M.
The Special Meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to
order by Mayor Stanek on Thursday, January 14, 1982 at 7:40 P.M. for the
purpose of discussing the proposed annexation of McHenry Shores and also
to consider and take action on any and all business which might properly
come before the Council. At roll call the following aldermen were pre-
sent: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Wieser, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Pepping.
,Absent: None.
Also in attendance were Attorney Narusis; Clerk Gilpin; Chief
Pasenelli; Dr. Hal Sundin of Baxter & Woodman; Richard Panerali Pre-
sident of McHenry Shores; Clint Claypool, McHenry Hospital board member ;
spectator Walter Morris; Reporter Donna Bertulis of McHenry Herald
and reporter Tony Oliver of McHenry Plaindealer.
Special Meeting
Dr. Hal Sundin distributed letters to each Council Member re-
garding alternative plans for routing of water and sewer lines for servic-
ing the McHenry Hospital site on Bull Valley Road. He explained the
alternatives through graphic diagrams.
Attorney Narusis reported that the owner of the Mid -States
property (also known as the McDonald property) which lies between the
Chicago Northwestern Railroad tracks and South Route 31 had informed
him they plan to request rezoning of that property within the next few
weeks. They indicated a desire to have Commercial Zoning along the
side of the highway with Industrial Zoning on the majority of the
property.
Mayor Stanek call for a recess at 9:07 P.M. The meeting re-
convened at 9:11 P.M. with everyone still in attendance.
The Mayor presented his viewpoints on the proposed annexation
of McHenry Shores. Each aldermen in turn, asked questions and gave her/
his opinion on the matter. President Panerali answered questions regard-
ing McHenry Shores and Attorney Narusis responded to legal questions.
At the aldermen's request, President Panerali agreed to contact
the Villages auditing firm and get an up to date report on the financial
status of the village as of January 14, 1982. It would be given to the
aldermen as a point of information.
No formal action was taken at the meeting.
Motion by Wieser, seconded by Smith to adjourn.
Voting Aye: Meurer, Serritella, Smith, Wieser, Datz, Harker,
Nolan, Pepping.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 10:52 P.M.
