Committee Meeting of the Whole was called to order by Mayor Stanek at 8:38 P.M. on Thursday, February 12, 1981 for the purpose of discussing a dredging proposal for Boone Creek. At roll call the following aldermen were present: Harker, Datz, Wieser, Adams, Schooley, Meurer. Absent: Nolan, Pepping. Also in attendance were Supt. Weber, Clerk Gilpin, Jerome Miller of Lakeland Construction Company and newspaper reporter Lloyd Burger. I Committee Mtg. of th whole Mayor Stanek and Miller gave details on where, how, and why Boone Boone Creek should be dredged from just north of the Creek juncture at Grand Avenue Creek Dredging east to the Green Street Bridge. For a cost of $50,000.00, Miller would dredge approximately 2,500 to 3,000 feet of creek with a 70 foot long dredge which is 18 feet wide and is a 12-inch machine. The work would be done in July or August of 1981. The city would be asked to furnish manpower to lay and resituate piping as work progresses. Lakeland would furnish a catepillar and the city would be required to build a dike to contain the spoil from the creek. After a lengthy discussion and a question and answer period, the meeting adjourned at 9:25 P.M. City Clerk
