Mayor Stanek and Miller gave details on where, how, and why Boone
Boone
Creek should be dredged from just north of the Creek juncture at Grand Avenue Creek
Dredging
east to the Green Street Bridge. For a cost of $50,000.00, Miller would dredge
approximately 2,500 to 3,000 feet of creek with a 70 foot long dredge which
is 18 feet wide and is a 12-inch machine. The work would be done in July or
August of 1981. The city would be asked to furnish manpower to lay and resituate
piping as work progresses. Lakeland would furnish a catepillar and the city
would be required to build a dike to contain the spoil from the creek.
After a lengthy discussion and a question and answer period, the
meeting adjourned at 9:25 P.M.
