MONDAY, JANUARY 7, 1985 7:30 P.M.
The Regular Meeting of the McHenry City Council was called to Council
order by Mayor Stanek on Monday, January 7, 1985 at 7:30 P.M. At roll Mtg.
call the following Aldermen were present: Bolger, Nolan, Busse, Datz,
McClatchey, Smith, Snell, Serritella. Absent: None. City staff in Attendance
attendance were Supt. Halvensleben, Clerk Gilpin, Park Director Merkel
arrived at 7:48 P.M. Absent: Attorney Narusis.
Motion by McClatchey, seconded by Nolan, to accept the minutes
of the December 17, 1984 Regular Meeting and the December 21, 1984
Special Meeting as presented.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Mayor Stanek presented Developer Donation checks in the
amount of $13,550.00 each to Dr. Richard Farmer of School District 15 Developer
and to Dr. Robert Swartzloff of School District 156 for Developer Donations
Donation contributions made during the 1984 calendar year. A check
for $7,450.00 will also be presented to the McHenry Public Library as
their share of Developer Donations collected for the same period of
time.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Datz, to deny the request of
Stilling/Mathews for a zoning classification change as presented in Zoning
their petition to the Zoning Board of Appeals on November 29, 1984. Matters

Voting Nay: Smith, Snell, Serritella.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Discussion was held on installation of iron removal
equipment for the City water distribution system.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Datz, to authorize the City to Bid. Auth.
proceed with design and advertise for iron removal equipment with
payment to made from the Water/Sewer Account or the Capital Develop- Water Dept.
ment Fund. Improvements
Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Snell, to establish a Public
Hearing at 6:30 P.M. on March 4, 1985 to discuss the status of the
McHenry Shores Facilities Sewer Plan.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Snell, seconded by Nolan, to confirm the appoint-
ments made by the Economic Development Commission for the following
new board members: Keith Leathers of McHenry State Bank to fill the
unexpired term of Chamber of Commerce President Trey Covalt, Kathy
Marinangel of McHenry Savings and Loan to fill the unexpired term of
Jack Pepping, Minno Halma owner of Coast to Coast Hardware to fill
the unexpired term of Butch Meyer.

Smith, Snell, Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.

Comm. Auth. Mayor Stanek authorized the Public Property Committee to
look into possible sale of a Harley Davidson Motorcycle owned by the
Sale City City and to look into the purchase of benches for the glass enclosure
Property in front of City Hall.
Pub. Works Motion by Snell, seconded by Datz, to authorize and approve
Purchases the purchase of a curtain enclosure for the Skid -Steer "Uni-Loader"
at a cost of $900.00 from George P. Freund & Sons.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Police Motion by McClatchey, seconded by Nolan, to authorize and
Dept. approve the reimbursement of $78.00 to Officer William Brogan for a
Misc. Criminal Investigation Course taken at McHenry County Community
College.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Insurance Motion by Datz, seconded by Busse, to authorize and approve
payment of $3,566.00 to A.J. Gallagher for renewal of a boiler
insurance policy.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Busse, Datz, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by McClatchey, to adjourn.
