MONDAY, JANUARY 6, 1986
Special Meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor
Busse on Monday, January 6, 1986 at 7:30 P.M. in city hall. At roll call Council
the following Aldermen were present: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan, Mtgs.-
Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta. Absent: None. City staff in attendance Attendance
were Building Inspector Rosing, Attorney Narusis, Clerk Gilpin. Also in Special
attendance was John Gann of Gann & Associates. Mtgs.
Mayor Busse announced that the purpose of the meeting was to
consider zoning ordinance revisions and to handle any and all other
business which may properly come before the Council.
The first matter to be discussed was a sign variation request by sign Per-
K-Mart„ They wish to install a sign at the intersection of Mc Cullom Lake mits &
Road and Route 31. Variations
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Snell, to grant the sign variation
request of K-Mart to install a sign at the intersection of Mc Cullom Lake
Road and Route 31 with the stipulation that it be removed after one year
unless an extension is requested.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella, Teta.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
John Gann and the Council then discussed the residential
development standards as proposed by Gann and Associates. Each
Alderman had received the proposal prior to the City Council Meet-
ing. He also distributed handouts entitled "Three Elements of Zoning
Ordinance Development" which aided the Council in the procedure to
use in discussing the proposed revisions.
Mayor Busse called for a recess at 9:08 P.M. The meeting
reconvened at 9:20 P.M. with everyone still in attendance.
Following lengthy discussion revisions were made to the pro-
posed home occupation section, the residential zoning district
section and the permitted and conditional uses in residential
district sections.
The Council asked for more information on zero lot line dis-
tricts. Gann said that he will furnish the information at a future
meeting. The revisions as suggested by the Council were to be
incorporated into a zoning proposal that will be submitted to the
Council for final approval.
Motion by Smith, seconded by McClatchey, to adjourn.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Lieder, McClatchey, Nolan,
Smith, Snell, Serritella, Zeta.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 11:58 P.M.
