HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - 24-53 - 12/16/2024 - Tax Levy CITY OF MCHENRY MCHENRY COUNTY STATE OF ILLINOIS Ordinance 24-53 AN ORDINANCE FOR THE LEVY OF TAXES FOR THE CITY OF McHENRY, McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS FOR THE YEAR 2024 Passed by the Mayor and City Council Of the City of McHenry McHenry County State of Illinois December 16, 2024 Published in pamphlet form by authority of the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois this 17th Day of December 2024 ORDINANCE NO. 24-53 2024 PROPERTY TAX LEVY ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR THE LEVY OF TAXES FOR THE CITY OF McHENRY, McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS FOR THE YEAR 2024 WHEREAS, the City of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois is a home rule municipality as contemplated under Article VII, Section 6, of the Constitution of the State of Illinois, and passage of this Ordinance constitutes an exercise of the City's home rule powers and functions as granted in the Constitution of the State of Illinois. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS as follows: SECTION 1: That a tax for the following sums of money, or as much thereof as may be authorized by law to defray all expenses and liabilities of the City of McHenry, be and the same are hereby levied for the purposes specified against all taxable property in the City of McHenry for the year 2024 in the respective sums as follow, to-wit: Article I General Fund Levv Administration Department Salaries- Regular 15,920 Overtime- Regular - SECTION 3: The Clerk of aforesaid City is hereby directed to file with the Clerk of McHenry County a duly certified copy of this ordinance. SECTION 4: The Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form (which publication is hereby authorized), as provided by law.
