R��UIRE:�F;"dTS �OR THE C OATSTRUCT.�ON

BE IT URDAI�TED by the city Council of the City of McHenry that the Municipal
Code of the City of McHenry add the follawi.ng paragraph to krticle 3 of
Chapter i9 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of I�cHenr;�;
492 a. Grain elevators, lumber yards, and ice houses)
An;� grain elevator building, lumber yard, or ice house
may be constructed �f wood, if the exterior walls
and roof are covered by an envelope of incombustible
material and if the first story �ralls of �rain elevators
are built of masonry not less than twenty inches thick
or of reinforced concrete not less than twelve inches
� thick. The construction of such described structures
shall not be comnienced until the approval of the City
Engineer shall first be had and obtained and shall be
certified by him as to the con-�pliance of the proposed
structure insofar as public safety is concerned. Such
determination of the City Engineer and his recomrnendation
shall be based upon the minimu►r. standards regarding
such special use structures as set up by the Revised
Statutes of the State of Illinois in the sections
pertaining thereto.
