HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - n/a - 01/01/1900 - Traffic Regulations/' � . �,� AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO TRAFFIC, � REGULATING THE USE OF PUBLIC STREETS IN THE CITY OF McHENR.Y, McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AND PRESCRIBING AMENDED REGU- LATIONS RELATIVE TO THE PARKING OF ALL VEHICLES UPON SUCH STREETS WHEREAS, a survey and study of traffic flow conditions and par.king conditions on the hereinafter named streets in the City of � McHenry has been conducted by the Board of Local Improvements of � the City Council of the City of McHenry; and 1 WHEREAS, such survey and study has conclusively established the necessity for additional traffic and parking control of j Irnotor vehicles during the hours of 6:00 F. M. to 9:00 P. M. on each � ! Frida evenin of each week during the year on the said hereinafter � Y g I j named streets; and i �� � WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary in the interests of public safety and convenience to effect such additional regulations concerning i � the use of presently installed parking meters on the said herei.na.fter j named streets; ' I � j NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Local Improvements of �, j� the City of McHenry has recommended to the City Council of the said ; ' City that the amendment as hereinafter set forth to the Municipal 1 " Code of the City of McHenry be adopted by the Council, and as a � ��� result of said recommendation and action by the City Council: � i� , I � ;{ BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of � I,€ McHenry that an ordinance relating to traffic and � i� regulating the use of public streets in the City of �' McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois, prescribing ' i� regulations relative to the parking of vehicles upon � ��V such streets; providing for purchase, leasing, � {� acquiring, installation, operation, maintenance, ! li supe rvis ion, regulation and control of the us e of ( �'' ` parking meters and providing for the payment � I' �',� thereof; defining and providing for the establishment i, of par.king meter zones upon the public streets ; �i and for an enforcement thereof and providing ! ii , ,� penalties for the violation thereof; � � i; � " and as amended by, and hereby is amended by adding thereto the � 1i following: I !i> ��� Section 19. In all par.king meter zones of the City of McHenry, the time limitation for legal parking in compliance i ';� with the provisions of this ordinance shall be extended � �j to include the hours of 6:00 P. M. to 9:00 P. All ordina.nces or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
