AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN THE CITY OF McHENR Y, ILLINOIS � WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interests of the public safety and welfare that control be exercised over the use of motor vehicles on the public ways in the City of McHenry; � NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of McHenry Illinois that Chapter 1:�?, t-�rticle jIT� i of the Municipal Code of the City of McHenry be and hereby is amended � to include the following: 475a) No person shall operate or drive any motor 1 vehicle on any street, highway or other public way - fi within the City of McHenry, unless such person � has a valid license or permit as an operator or chauffeur or a restricted driving permit issued by the Secretary of State of the State of Illinois, except for a .non-resident of the State of Illinois, � who is at least sixteen (16) years of age and who i I� has in his immediate possession a valid operator's ; or chauffeur's license or permit, issued to him in � '� his home state or county. ;1 475b} For the purposes of this ordinance,"motor � I, vehicle" shall mean every vehicle which is pro- ; i pelled otherwise than by muscular ��owrer, includ- j la ing but not limited to motor cycles, motor-driven i � cycles, pole trailers, reconstructed vehicles, road tractors, school buses, semi-trailers, 8 ispecial mobile equipment, specially constructed � vehicles, trackless trailer coaches, trailers, j � i trucks, truck tractors, as well as motor cycles, � power cycles, bicycles with motor attached, or �I power scooters with a motor which produces not ' � to exceed 5 brake horsepower. � � 475C ; It shall be unlawful for more than one I person to ride, drive or be a passenger upon a � i; motor cycle, bicycle with motor attached, power � Iicycles, or power scooters with a motor which ; �� produces not to exceed 5 brake horsepower. ; ; I 475d) Any person, firm or corporation violating i � the terms of this ordinance shall be fined not less ! li than twenty-five ($25. 00) .Jollars nor more than �' �� two hundred ($200. 00) dollars for each offense. � , r ,� This ordinance shall be in full force and ;' effect from and after its passage, approval and LOOZE & KINNE �:s ATTORNEYS � • ?E.ELM STREET - `�.1ENRY,ILLIIVOIS j�;: McHENRY 1580 � (I . , ' � publication according to law. i � Ayes: �� Nayes: i � Abs ent: � ( ;� Passed and approved this day of October, A.
