the Village of idlcHenry, County of TvicHenry and State %J Illinois,
as follows:
Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person to own,
paseess, harbor or keep vrithin the limits of the Village of
L%:cHenry any dog or dogs, unless such person shall annually pay
on ar before the 1st day of Play, of each '�,i�d every yeazto the
Village clerk the elan of Two (2� I?ollars and twenty-five (25)
cents for each ar�d every dcg eo owned, posaessad, harbored or
kept by Kira.
Section 2. That upon the pa;Jment of said sum of Two Dollars
and twenty-five cents (�'2.25), it shall be the duty of the village
clerk to register in a book, prepared ar�d l�cept by him for such
purpose, the name of the owner, the name of the dog and a ge�t•-
6ra1 description of the same; and from such sum on paid to him
the clerk shall retain as a fee for the issuing and recording of
each dog license the sum of twsrity-five cents (25W), and shall
pay the balance of such money to the village treasurer.
Section 3. That it shall be the duty of the village clerk,
during each and every year, to provide metal tags, not larger than
an ordinary half dollar, having stamped thereon numbers indicating
the year for which the tam is paid and the letters M. D. T., and
to deliver one of such tags to each person paying such license.
Section 4. That it shall be the duty of the owner of every
dog to procure fer the same a suitable collar, to which shall be
securely attached the metal tag so obtained as herein provided
from the village clerk, and paid owner shall securely fasten
around the nEck of said dog, and it shall be lawful far any
policeman of said village to shoot any dog fotand within the corpora
ate limits of said village on which said license has not beer_ paid
or on which is not found a metal tag as hereinbefcre provided.
Section 5. That it shall be lawful for the president of the
village board, at any time that he shall deem it advisable, to
declare by proclamation that all dogs within the limits of said
village shall be kept properly muzzled within and during the time
set forth in said proclamation, and any dog found within_ the
Limits of said village without a proper muzzle during the time so
declared in said proclamation may be shot by any policemen of
said village.
Section 6, That any person or persons violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not
less than Five (5) Aollars nor more than Twenty-five (25) 17ollars.
Section 7. That all ordinances heretofore passed concerning
dog licenses and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 8. That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after the expiration of ten days after its
publication.
