Board of Police Commissioners
November 1, 2023
Police Chairman Sue Meyer called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm in the Police Administration
Conference Room with the following Commissioners present John Jones and Stephen Doherty. Also
present was Deputy Chief Tom Walsh and Administrative Assistant Deb Shuett. Absent: Chief John Birk
Public Comment
None.
1. Motion to Approve October 4, 2023 Meeting Report
Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to approve meeting minutes. Police Commissioner John
Jones and second by Police Commissioner Stephen Doherty to approve the minutes from the
October 4, 2023, meeting. Police Commission meeting as presented. All ayes, motion carried.
2. Unfinished Business
Personnel Update – Officer Pederson and Officer Meyers are doing well in Field Training as
reflected in their daily activity reports.
Steven Barjaktarevic and Justin McCauley are doing well in the academy. Expected graduation
sometime mid-December.
Background and Polygraph exams have been completed for Christopher Cummings.
Psychological testing to be completed on Saturday (11/4). Anticipate job offer to be sent soon.
Expected to start the Police Academy sometime in January 2024.
3. New Business
Eligibility List – Need to start new Eligibility list. Set up and schedule written tests and oral
interviews. Anticipate oral interviews occurring sometime in January 2024.
Review and approve the Board of Police Commissioners 2024 Meeting Schedule
4. Communications
The following bill(s) were presented for approval:
Wagner Investigative Polygraph Service $150.00
Pre-Employment Polygraph Exam – Christopher Cummings
Adjournment
Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to adjourn meeting. Police Commissioner Stephen
Doherty and second by Police Commissioner John Jones to adjourn the meeting at 2:15 pm. All
ayes, motion carried.
