RESOLUTI01�DETERMINING THE AMOUNT OF FUNDS TO BE LEVIED FOR THE 2021
TAX YEAR T)�ROUGH REAL ESTATE TAXES FOR THE CITY OF MCHENRY,MCHENRY
COUNTY,ILLINOIS
WHERI,AS, the City of McHenry has historically levied taxes for the purpose of
conducting Cit�� business for its residents and local businesses; and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry has worked diligently on behalf of its residents and
local businesses to reduce expenditures while attempting to provide the same high quality of
programs and services; and
WHERkEAS, the City of McHenry has, for the following years (2011, 2012, 2013,
2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020), forgone an increase or decreased the Property Tax
Levy thereby keeping proposed levy amounts equal or less than the amount approved in 2010;
and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry passed a 1.4% increase to the proposed levy amount
of$3,073,069 to be collected in 2022; and
WHER�AS, the City of McHenry proposes a 0% increase to the proposed levy amount
of$3,072,868 to be collected in 2023; and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry proposes a 0% increase to the proposed levy amount
of$3,074,352 ta be collected in 2024; and
WHER�AS, a Public Hearing will be held on December 18, 2023, at 7:00 p.m., at which
date and time the public will have an opportunity to comment on said proposed levy; and
WHEREAS, the date of the Public Hearing will be published in the Northwest Herald
newspaper and posted in the McHenry Municipal Center.
NOW, 'THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois go on record establishing the date and time, December
18, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. for the Public Hearing to consider the proposed 2023 Property Tax Levy
in the amount of$3,074,352.
