MINUTES — BUILDING � ZONING COMMITTEE MEETING
- SEPTEMBER 24, 1992

The Building & Zoning Committee met in the Aldermen' s Conference
Room. �
Building & Zoning Committee members present: Chairman Smith,
Alderman Donahue and Director of Building & Zoning Lobaito .
Committee member Alderman Serritella was absent .
Topics of discussion:

Smith noted that the purpose of this meeting was to consider
and make a recommendation to the Council on" a request from
Father Robert Sherry , Pastor of The Church of Holy Apostles
to 1) waive buildi'ng permit fees , 2) allowing them to design
and erect a sign, and 3) consider allowing the church to delay
paving their parking lot for a year or two .
Donahue stated that she felt the building permit fees should
be waived. The sign was not a problem, but the Council should
be <<llowed to review the design before it is erected, and if
a v,iriance is needed it should be permitted within reason.
She also noted variances were granted to Goodyear and Little
Cae:�ars. Concerning the request to delay paving the parking

Committee Recommendation: 1) waive building permit fees with
the exception of capital improvement fees, 2) approve
installation of a sign contingent upon Council approval of the
design, and 3) allow the church to delay paving their parking
lot for a year or two, with the exception of the driveway or
the approach which should have at least a base coat.
