Millennium Committee Meeting Monday, July 26, 1999 7:00 P.M. At the last Committee meeting, the following people were in attendance: Joyce Story, Bobbie Pantaleo, Annie Cuda, Lisa Benoit, Sheila Biell, and Mayor Steven Cuda. The Committee discussed: The Committee has agreed to meet twice a month. A proposed meeting schedule is attached to this report for the Committee's review. Millennium Praise Celebration: As of this date, there are 125 participants in the adult choir. Copies of the sheet music will be made this month. Two hundred cassette tapes totaling $108 were ordered and received to copy background music for the choirs. Contract was signed and a check for $311 was sent to the McHenry West Campus High School for use of the auditorium on January 2, 2000. Banners: Lisa Benoit and Sheila Biell have been contacting banner companies. 160 banners will be purchased. The Committee will be updated Monday, August 16. .. QuiltlQuilt Case: At the time of this writing, Marci Geraghty was still waiting to hear from Debbie Tomec of the McHenry County Quilters Club regarding our request for a Millennium Quilt patterned after the contest entries from the Banner Contest. More information should be available at the meeting. Marci Geraghty spoke to Ken Hopkins of Protoproduction. This company is designing and constructing the quilt case. Ken called to verify the dimensions of the case. Time Capsule: An article will appear in the City of McHenry Newsletter next month asking the residents of the City for items or ideas to put in the time capsule. To date, we have received a map of McHenry circa 1920, a color aerial of Mass Barn, and a sesquicentennial banner. A copy of the article is attached for your review. Capsule Stone Marker: An idea for the capsule marker might be to print an entry blank in the Northwest Herald and ask readers to send in a quote that they feel would be appropriate to inscribe on the stone marker for the time capsule. The winner will have the privilege of knowing that their idea will forever be etched in stone! Marci Geraghty called the Herald and they are willing to give us some space. . Miscellaneous Items: At the last meeting, the Committee discussed the "' possibility of printing T-shirts bearing the Millennium Banner for sale to the public. One idea is to donate the proceeds from all sales to the proposed City of McHenry Recreation Center. Millennium Essays and Collages: At this time, it is too early to contact Jr. High and elementary school teachers. Marci Geraghty will contact them the week of August 16. Coffee Cart — Saturday January 1: Lisa Benoit will update the Committee on her search for a vendor to supply coffee, hot chocolate, cookies, and/or cakes during the festivities on Saturday.
