HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 11/12/1999 - Millennium Committee MEMORANDUM To: Miller ium Committee Members From: Chairm Steve Cuda Date: November 12, 1999 Subject: Millennium Committee Meeting — November 15, 1999 Regarding tonight's meeting, as you can see we have a very full agenda. The Committee must be prepared to finalize many of these issues as time is passing very quickly! Before we begin, I would like to thank everyone on the Committee for the time and effort you have so generously given to your community. This is a once in a lifetime - opportunity and I am proud to be a part of it, and I am looking forward to our continued success! Now back to business . . . Randy Chirstensen of the McHenry Area Jaycees has requested time at the next Millennium Committee meeting to discuss the sale of "glow necklaces" at the bonfire/fireworks celebration on Friday, December 31. Randy's daughter has been chosen to go to Europe for one month in the `People to People" program hosted by the Jaycees of America. To participate, she has to raise her own financing. On behalf of the Millennium Committee, I have invited Randy and his daughter to attend the next meeting to discuss his request with the Committee. The Human Relations Commission has offered to provide a $50.00 payment to the performing groups on Saturday, January 1, 2000. A letter from the City Administrator to Chairman Patricia Buhrman is attached for your review. He has asked that a member of the Human Relations Commission be in attendance. The Committee is being asked to make a decision on this request at tonight's meeting. mmg
