HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 4/5/2006 - Finance and Personnel Committee FINANCE AND PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING Wednesday,Apri15,2006 Aldermen's Conference Room, 7:00 p.m. `— In Attendance: Committee Members: Chairman Alderman Murgatroyd, Alderman Schaefer and Alderman Peterson. Absent: None. Also in Attendance: City Administrator Maxeiner, Assistant City Administrator Martin, Director of Finance Shietds and City Clerk Jones. Chairman Alderman Murgatroyd called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Fiscal Year 2006/2007 BudQet Director of Finance Shields provided an explanation of the various revenues by category. He stated that 80% of the total revenue in the General Fund is made up of • Sales Tax; • Income Tax; and • Property Tax. Director Shields stated other significant revenues are: • Parks and Recreation programs; • Building Permits; • Tr�c Fines; • Township Road and Bridge Tax; • Telecommunications; • Vehicle Licenses; and �" • Investment Income. A lengthy discussion ensued regarding the detailed revenues, which Direetor Shields summarized by category. City Administrator M�einer outlined some of the benefits home rule would provide to the City's budget. City Administrator Maxeiner summarized the Fiscal Year 2006/2007 Budget Requests. Adiournment Motion by Peterson, seconded by Schaefer,to adjourn the meeting at 8:50 p.m. Aye: Schaefer, Murgatroyd, Peterson. Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
