Others Present: Mayor Busse, City Administrator Peterson, Kevin Mundt from "The Spot". Chairman Lieder called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. LICBNSB FBE IftCREASB 1) The Finance Committee recommended to the City Council an increase in the annual license fee from $25.00 to $50.00 for cigarette vending machines, 3uke boxes, and mechanical amusement devices. The Committee also recommended that there be no pro-ration of these fees over the course of the year. The Committee's recommendation was considered by the City Council at its October 21, 1992 meeting, At that time, a public :�earing was held and there were ob�ections to the fees by a number of current license holders. The City Council referreci the issue back to the Committee for additional considel-ation and a new recommendation. After considering the input from the current license holders, a motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to a) increase the annual license fee for cigarette vending machines, � juke boxes, and mechanical amusement devices from $25 to $50 for the first 20 licenses at one location, b) to allow no pro-ration of fees for a partial year license, and c) to require an amusement license at a cost of $200 annually when more than 20 cigarette vending machines, 3uke boxes, or mechanical amusement devices are at one location. This license would be sub3ect to the Special Use approval process currently in place, and also require an annual review of the amusement license similar to the review for the issuance of annual liquor licenses done by the Mayor. , MAYOR'S SALARY 2) The issue of the Mayor's salary was brought up by Alderman Bolger. The Mayor, who was present at the meeting, concurred to a reduction in his salary. A motion was made and seconded to reduce the Mayor's salary from $15,000 to $9,000 annually to be effective May 1, 1993. The recommendation was unanimously approved by the Finance Committee.
