HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 4/8/1996 - Finance and Personnel Committee ' FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES
April 8, 1996
Members Present: Chairman Lawson, Greg Bates and Bill Baird
Others Present: Mayor Cuda, City Clerk Althoff, Alderman Bolger, High School
Superintendent Robert Swartzloff, High School Principals Tom Carl and Greg
Johnson and Lt. Donahue
Alderman Lawson called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
Lawson reminded the committee that the high school representatives and Lt.
Donahue were in attendance to provide additional information on the police liason
officer program.
Superintendent Swartzloff gave a brief review of the program and noted the school
board's offer to pay for 75% of the city's total cost for a first year officer to offset
the cost of this program.
The officer selected for this duty would not necessarily be a first year officer and
would be mutually agreed upon by both the High School Board and the City of
-' McHenry Police Chief. Swartzloff also noted the officer would be shared by both
high schools. A lengthy discussion followed.
It was the determination of council to discuss this program further at the regularly
scheduled council meeting on Wednesday, April 10th.
Chairman Lawson called for a recess at 8:35 P.M. Superintendent Swartzloff, Tom
Carl, Greg Johnson and Lt. Donahue were excused.
The meeting was reconvened at 8:40 P.M. with the full committee still in
attendance.
