Voting Aye: Baird, Lawson Voting Nay: None Absent: Locke Motion carried. PERSONNEL---Finance Chairman Alderman Lawson distributed a written request from City Attorney McArdle for ar increase in his hourly rate from the current 575/hour to S95/hour for all corporate work. City Clerk Althoff noted this hourly rate has not been increased by the City of McHenry since 1991. Mayor Cuda stated Attorney McArdle's letter offered to freeze the increase for the next four years. Some discussion followed. Motion by Baird, seconded by Lawson, to recommend to full council the increase in corporate attorney fees from S75/hour to S95/hour for all corporate work done by the City Attorney appointed by Mayor Cuda throughout his term of office from May 1, 1997 through April 30, 2001. INDIVIDUAL EMPLOYEE REQUESTS � Chairman Alderman Lawson noted several individual employee requests had been submitted, specifically: -A reclassification in grade by Junior Clerk Lynn Martensen -An increase in salary in exchange for exempt status by Deputy Clerk, Kathi Kunzer -A reclassification in grade by Accounts Payable Clerk Rhonda Rushing and -An increase in hourly rate for permanent part-time employees, Anne Kranz and Patricia Lunkenheimer A lengthy discussion followed. It was noted Junior Clerk Martensen has undertaken numerous additional duties with the reduction in fulltime staff from 1996. Deputy Clerk Kunzer has, at the initiation of Director of Building and Zoning and City Clerk Althoff, offered to be responsible for all the minute taking at the Zoning Board of Appeals and Plan Commission meetings and in exchange for an exempt status and reduction in overtime salary costs she is requesting an 8% raise. Accounts Payable Clerk Rushing has been maintaining and upgrading the new computer equipment installed in 1993 and is requesting a two grade reclassification to Grade 7. Permanent part-timers, Anne Kranz and Patricia Lunkenheimer are requesting a cost-of-living increase as their hourly salary rate was frozen at 513.50/hour. The discussion continued. It was the consensus of the Finance Committee to recommend the following changes to the full council: -a reclassification for Junior Clerk Martensen from Grade 2 to Grade 3/Clerk Status -a special recognition award of 51000 to Accounts Payable Clerk Rushing -a CPI or percentage raise, whichever is lower, for permanent part-timers, Anne Kranz and Patricia Lunkenheimer � It was noted the current CPI is 2.7%.
