PURPOSE: To discuss McHenry Parks and Recreation Department (MPRD) Related

1 . DISCUSS MEMBERSHIP IN NORTHERN ILLINOIS SPECIAL RECREATION ASSOCIATION
(NISRA)
DISCUSSION: Discussion centered on the City of Mchenry' s possible
membership in NISRA. Types of programs available, transportation, and
resident participatio� were reviewed. We discussed in detail the
administration structure and staffing of NISRA and the City' s cost of
becoming a full member. Funding for membership would have to be
approved by the City Council .
RECOMMENDATION: Due to lack of a quorum no recommendation could be
made. Request for membership will be placed on the December 2, 1992
City Council agenda.

2. UPDATE ON PARKS AND RECREATION MASTERPLAN
DISCUSSION: A report was given on the status of the Parks and
Recreation Masterplan. Additional information will be presented at the
January Parks and Recreation Committee meeting.
RECOMMENDATION: No recommendation.
3. SET COt�MITTEE DATES FOR 1993
DISCUS:�ION: Proposed committee meetings for 1993 were submitted.
Concer� was expressed that dates be reviewed with all committee members
before approving proposed dates that are attached.
RECOMMENDATION: Review dates with all committee members before
approving and publishing dates.
4. PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTORS REPORT
A) Update on McHenry Marlins Donation
All items that were approved for purchase have been ordered. Any
funds remaining from the $6,000.00 donation from the Marlins
parents will be used to purchase additional swim team equipment.
B) Report on Jaycee Park Development
All playground equipment and landscape timbers have been
delivered. Price quotes from local contractors will be reviewed
and submitted to Jaycees committee for approval . Installation to
be completed this winter and spring.
C) Report on Brookside Park Site Evaluation
Ken Fiske, of Conservation Services, has made a preliminary
presentation of this site to the U.S. Arrr�y Corps of Engineers for
their review. Plant inventory and soil analysis are currently
being done. A final analysis of this site should be submitted in
December.
