HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 12/4/2001 - Landmark Commission THE CITY OF MCHENRY LANDMARK COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES DECEMBER 4,2001 BEFORE THE FORMAL PORTION OF THE MEETING, THE MEMBERS LISTENED TO NANCY FIKE'S PRESENTATION OF THE HISTORY OF MCHENRY. THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:50 PM BY CHAIRPERSON GREG LOFGREN AT THE MCHENRY MUNICIPAL CENTER.. MEMBERS PRESENT INCLUDED: JUDY FRANKS, KAREN JAMES, MERLE JANSSEN, DAWN JOHNSON, SUE KOTOMSKI, GREG LOFGREN, SHELLY TROST, ILENE WIEDEMANN,AND LORI WILHELM. MEMBERS ABSENT: PAT SCHAFER,AND GRETCHEN THOMAS. GUEST PRESENT: BOB PETERSEN AND DOUG MARTIN. LORI WILHELM MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 6 , 2001 MEETING. SHELLY TROST SECONDED THE MOTION. NO DISCUSSIONS WERE NOTED,AND THE MOTION CARRIED. GREG LOFGREN REPORTED EXPENSES FOR TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE PRESERVATION CONFERENCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $97.04, THE BALANCE IN THE GENERAL FUND STANDS AT$2,451.88. THE FACADE GRANT BUDGET STANDS AT $12,800.00. DAWN JOHNSON MOVED TO ACCEPT THE BUDGET REPORT, JUDY L. FRANKS SECONDED THE MOTION, AND THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. BOB PETERSEN ADDRESSED THE COMMISSION CONCERNING HIS PERSONAL PROPERTY. HIS CONCERN SEEMS TO BE THAT CERTAIN ITEMS REMAIN WITH THE HOUSE WHEN THE CITY DECIDES WHAT TO DO WITH THE PROPERTY. THE COMMISSION AGAIN EXPRESSED THE DESIRE TO USE THE PROPERTY AS SOME TYPE OF REPOSITORY AND SHOWCASE FOR MCHENRY HISTORY. THE COMMISSION SUGGESTED HE CONTINUE TO CHECK WITH THE CITY AND LEGAL COUNCIL. GREG INTRODUCE DOUG MARTIN, CITY PLANNER, WHO HAS BEEN WORKING ON PARTICULARS OF THE PRESERVATION ORDINANCE. DOUG IS ORGANIZING PROPERTY OWNERS NAMES AND ADDRESSES AND PIN NUMBERS. HE WILL BE WORKING WITH THE CITY ATTORNEY TO MAKE SURE THE COMMISSION IS FOLLOWING THE INTENT OF THE ORDINANCE. AS SOON AS ALL OF THE PAPER WORK IS READY DATES WILL BE SET FOR THE PUBLIC HEARING. THE COMMISSION THANKED DOUG FOR HIS EFFORTS. THE BIDS FOR THE DIGITAL CAMERA WILL BE SUBMI1 ED. LORI WILHELM MOVED FOR ADJOURNMENT AT 8:55 PM, DAWN JOHNSON SECONDED THE MOTION, AND THE MOTION CARRIED.
