THE CITY OF MCHENRY LANDMARK COMMISSION MEETING
MINUTES MAY 22, 2001
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:27 PM BY CHAIRPERSON GREG
LOFGREN AT THE MUNICIPAL CENTER. MEMBERS PRESENT INCLUDED: MERLE
JANSSEN, DAWN JOHNSON, GREG LOFGREN, HANK NELL, PAT SCHAFER,
SHELLY TROST, AND ILENE WIEDEMANN. MEMBERS ABSENT: JUDY FRANKS,
GRETCHEN THOMAS, AND LORI WILHELM. GUEST PRESENT WERE MAYOR
ALTHOFF, VERN AND JEAN SCHILLER.
HANK NELL MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE MAY 1, 2001 MEETING.
DAWN JOHNSON SECONDED THE MOTION. NO DISCUSSION OR CORRECTIONS
WERE NOTED, AND THE MOTION CARRIED.
SHELLY TROST MOVED THAT A LETTER BE SENT TO BRUCE KLONTZ TO INFORM
HIM THAT THE LANDMARK COMMISSION WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE FIRST
OPPORTUNITY TO SAVE SOME OF THE ARCHITECTURAL FEATURE OF THE
GARAGE ON MAIN STREET. THE MOTION WAS SECONDED BY DAWN JOHNSON.
DISCUSSION CONCERNED THE FACT THAT CHAIRPERSON LOFGREN HAD BEEN
UNABLE TO REACH MR KLONTZ BY PHONE AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE
MOTION CARRIED.
THE BALANCE OF THE MEETING WAS SPENT DISCUSSING THE UPCOMING
�-- FAMILY HERITAGE DAYS, JUNE 23-24, 2001. DAWN JOHNSON, PAT SCHAFER,
SHELLY TROST, MAYOR ALTHOFF, VERN AND JEAN SCHILLER INFORMED THE
COMMISSION OF THE PROPOSED PLANS. ALL COMMISSION MEMBERS
PARTICIPATED IN THE DISCUSSION. FUTURE SUB-COMMITTEE MEETINGS WERE
PLANNED.
MERLE JANSSEN MOVED FOR ADJOURNMENT AT 9:19PM, HANK NELL SECONDED
THE MOTION, AND THE MOTION CARRIED.
