THE CITY OF MCHENRY LANDMARK COMMISSION November 2, 1993 The regular meeting of the McHenry Landmark Commission was brought to order at 7:35 p.m. at the McHenry Municipal Center. Members present were: Barb Byron, Marya Dixon, Adele Froehlich, Carl Fredrickson, Ruth Fenwick, Larry Huck, Carol Jean Smith, and Lori Wilhelm. Reverend Phyllis Mueller and Donnabelle Doherty were absent. MINUTES There were corrections to the October 5th meeting. Debbie Lane picked up an application for the Landmark Commission, not Brent Lane. Mrs. Lane is interested in becoming a member. Much confusion about photos, line three should be omitted completely. The motion to accept the minutes was made by Barb and seconded by Ruth. PLAQUE PROGRAM Barb and Marya will draft a letter and a form to send to the homeowners about our program. We hope that we can get more people interested in plaguing their homes or business. A discussion was held about the future of the old Library Building, if the Library Board accepts Mr. James Althoff's offer for the old Follett Building. Adele will contact Dorothy Uttich about getting a plaguing form and plaguing the library as soon as possible. SWEATSHIRTS Lori said the shirts. are selling very well . She stated that she receives a call from the school for at least two or three shirts per week. It was decided to charge more for the larger sweatshirts, $1 .50 for 2XX and $2.50 for 3XX. Only four sweatshirts were sold at our East Side/West Side Program. The Chamber display window is empty. Lori stated that she would look into getting the shirts on display. Lori would like a better financial report from the City on the shirt sales. PROGRAMS A big thanks to Carol Jean Freund for all her hard work on the East Side/West Side Program. It was a huge success. Our next program will be a slide presentation. Carol Jean has been asked by some organizations in town for a slide presentation. There will be a charge for this presentation and the money will go towards the Facade Grant. We will have our own slide program so we can get as much recognition as possible. It was approved to have Carol purchase new slide trays.
