HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 12/1/1992 - Landmark Commission CITY OF MCHENRY LANDMARK COMMISSION
DECEMBER 1 , 1992
The regular meeting of the McHenry Landmark Commission was brought
to order at 7:30 p.m. at the McHenry Municipal Center. Members
present were: Marya Dixon, Donnabelle Doherty, Adele Froehlich,
Jesse Freund, Marlene Goetschel , Carl Fredrickson, Jean Smith, and
Lori Wilhelm. In the absence of Tom Hopkins, Carl Fredrickson
presided.
The minutes were amended to read that there may be interest in the
beams of the Simon House. The minutes were approved with the above
amendment.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Carl stated that none was received by Tom.
MCHENRY COUNTY OLD HOUSE SUPPORT GROUP
Carl reported that they asked if we would be interested in hosting a
meeting for them in January. Mike Ward would be the speaker. The
suggested date is January 21st. There was a motion by Lori that we
provide a space at the Municipal Center. It was approved with the
contingency that we know first just what was involved, such as
coffee etc.
IAHPC ADVOCACY GROUP
Carl said that we received a letter from a Commission representative
stating that they need volunteers. Jean Smith commented that we
can't afford to channel our meager energies to some other group.
Carl said that Tom expressed a desire to participate and would be
interested in volunteering. The members were all in agreement that
he should go for it.
COMMISSION BYLAWS
Discussion was made on item 3 (unexcused absences) of the bylaws.
Jean said that we need to amend this item to state that a certain
percentage of meetings during a year must be attended regardless of
unexcused absences, eight meetings for example. Jesse moved that we
just take out the word "unexcused" from article #3 of part #2. Jean
seconded the motion. It was approved to start in January of 1993.
Carl said he may be free at that time to help him with it.
Motion to adjourn was made at 7:38 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Lori Wilhelm
