Peterson City Administrator The regular monthly meeting of the City of McHenry Landmark Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m. , July 2, 1991 in the Aldermen City Council Chambers. Members present were: Marya Dixon, Donnabelle Doherty, Adele Froelich, Tom Hopkins, Lori Wilhelm, Barb WARDI Byron, and Carl Fredrickson. William J. Bolger Toni Donahue WARD2 The minutes of the previous meeting were approved by unanimous vote. Gary W. Lieder Terence W. Locke There was no financial report. WARDS DEMOLITION ORDINANCE Raymond Smith Dennis L. Adams Carl and Tom reported on their visit to the City Council meeting. Tom made a suggestion to the council that anyone applying for a >vARD 4 demolition e ;:ARD serritella permit t should receive a sheet with the information Randy Patterson concerning the waiting period etc. Tom and Carl also reported that Councilman Ray Smith remarked "If we are going to have a demolition ordinance it should have some teeth in it." Tom said he would begin work on the revision of our demolition ordinance as soon as he can and then we will present it to the council for approval . HERITAGE TOUR AND DEMONSTRATIONS Lori Wilhelm stated that the two most important things needed for the Heritage tour are one, to find three homes for the tour and two, to organize the sale of the quilt raffel tickets. Marya agreed to be responsible for finding the three homes with the help of others on the Commission. Lori said she will contact Jean Smith to get her list of last years places to sell raffel tickets. New photos will be taken of the quilt. Both black and white and colored, with Donnabelle and Marlene included in the picture. Barb Byron stated that she is still looking for an Antique Car Club to agree to show at the Tour. FIESTA DAYS Tom reported that we have permission to set up our booth in front of the Chamber office on Green Street instead of the park as in the past. It was agreed that this would be a better place. Lori volunteered to call the State of Illinois Extension Office to inquire about space to sell our raffel tickets at the County Fair. A list of Landmark Commission Sub-Committees was read by Tom for the members to think about and decide which areas they want to work on specifically. A printed list will be included with next month's notice of meeting. Tom suggested that we should be members of the McHenry County Historical Society. The fee of $20.00 for a group membership was unanimously approved. No one from our Commission was able to attend the State Preservation Conference in Rockford last month. It was agreed that we should make a real effort to attend next years conference. Barb Gilpin informed the Commission that the City offices will move to the new City Hall on the 26th of July. The City Hall will re-open for business in their new building on the 30th of July. There will be an open house for the public on Sunday the 21st of July after the parade. Our next meeting will be held in the new building. Meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m. Respectfully submitted. Lori Wilhelm, Secretary
